  1. Need some suggestions!!

If the valve covers are gunna be off, a set of Cobra 1.7:1 rocker arms would be a nice, realitivly cheap upgrade. Adds a little more lift/duration without the hassle of a cam swap and the stock valvetrain wont be compromised. Also a set of headers and full exhaust will wake it up a bit.As for...
  2. Suspension Lift Vs. Body lift?

As said before, installing a body lift properly is more than just putting on some blocks to space the body from the frame. With whatever lift u decide to get, make sure it comes with a dropped pitman arm for the steering, front leaves, brackets and any assocciated drop brackets (sway bar and...
  3. DAY 2 BEGINS... *getting ready for show*

Take off the dealer sticker on the tailgate, dress the plastics and it'll look almost new. Did u buff the headlights yet?I try to keep my trucks cleaned up so i dont have to spend hrs upon hrs doing it (well i dont worry about my 88).
  4. Need Help! School me on 9th Gen F150

Short but important list to look for: - Rust...radiator support, wheel wells, bottom of the front fenders, rear leaf spring hangers n shackles, cab corners if an extended cab, bottom of the tailgate, fuel tanks, coil/shock buckets on the frame, bottom edge of the doors on the inside, inner wheel...
  5. 300efi build ?'s

This cam from Crane works really well on a fuelie 300 (its what i am running): http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CRN-503901/ No need for any valve train mods either. Just have the valve springs checked for proper installed height and all. I would also replace the phenolic gears with a set of...
  6. 300efi build ?'s

Mine runs like a raped ape, i have a mildy built fuelie 300 and been runnin it for years. Ask away.I need to refer to my notebook of suitable fuelie head mods before i can recommend anything but i would suggest a 3 angle valve job.
  7. 300 vs. 351

38.5s is a lot of tire for either engine with stock gears...my friend has a 95 F250 with a 351/ZF/4:10s and runs 40"s and its aqaquate but dogs a lot on hills.Gotta weigh ur options here...first is there anything wrong with ur 300? Second is cost, to buy and at the very least freshen up n...
  8. Bilstein's - which ones?

4600s (yellow) are stock replacements, 5100s (alm finish) are for lifted and the 5150s (alm finish) are 5100s in custom valving and lenghts.I have the 5100/5150 combo on my 93 F150and they are awsome. I have the 4600s on my 88 F350 and they totally changed the ride. Albiet i had stock 24 yr...
  9. Tinted Taillights....

Sorry but that looks tacky. I would get replacements or clear taillights with the black housing. Actually stockers look best on ur truck, keeps it looking clean.
  10. Starting Problems

I also had issues where the starter relay/solenid on the inner fender isnt grounded properly. make sure the attatching bolts are tight. if u are still having issues u can try to jump the solenoid but that is kind of dangerous.Start with cleaning the battery cable connections, check for loose...
  11. How to I.D. a rear end?

i have never seen a half ton ford with 4:10s except for lightnings. if u are unsure on the gear ratio of the donor either pull off the cover and count the teeth on both sets of gears and divide em or a simplier way is to spin the pinion and count how many turns it takes to drum to make one full...
  12. 93 steering column

u can remove the auto shifter and replace it with the cover off ur manual column. u will need to switch the cover anyway to put ur old tumbler in and put the key release button in. really not hard to do.
  13. Steering wheel problem

This may help ya out http://www.fullsizebronco.com/forum/showthread.php?t=181708
  14. look at this truck

really? its either an F-350 chassic cab or F-Superduty.
  15. Some questions about the Heavy Duty

Yup, in 1997 with the new body style F-150 Ford offered basically a heavy half ton, with 7 lug wheels, slightly heavier suspension. So to seperate the two the OBSs were F-250HDs.So what ya got is a normal OBS F-250.
  16. look at this truck

    My guess, 88-97 F-Superduty.
  17. well... thats a new one!

sounds like the rubber ring inside the balancer failed. They are known to slip as the ubber ages, never actually heard of one fail before.
  18. truck dies....

Remove neg batt cable to 15 minites and or clear codes n drive some more. For all those random codes to come up i have a slight hunch the pcm is taking a poo poo on ya.Also, are u sure everything is back in its original spot after the trans was installed? IMHO i would return it to the trans...
  19. New Flareside..

guess ur post on another forum saying ur f250 is for sale isnt true? just posted a few days ago.smilietease
  20. dropped off at trans shop

I would also do the shift kit now. As sid it would be covered under warrenty and dropping the pan/valve body is a PITA.Trans-Go make some nice kits.
  21. wish list for Flareside

One word of caution, try a small corner and work with a middle line grit. I bought a multi pack of wet/dry sand paper and a sanding block. I first started with 1000 in a corner and buffed it. if that doesnt work, try the next grit down, then go up. Dont wanna go to rough as its a PITA to get it...
  22. john palmer

Im pretty sure the 92-96/7 F250 and F350 didnt get an air bag, at least i never seen one with an airbag.
  23. wish list for Flareside

Only real way i found to "restore" headlights, is to wet sand them progressivly from say 400 to 1500 or 2000 grit. Then polish the hell outta em and finish off with a good wax. I did this to my 88 twice since i own it (have it since july 07) and it seems to help a lot. While they arent "new"...
  24. wish list for Flareside

I just installed the "euro" headlights on my 93. I think they look fantastic and the light output is a lot better then the stock fluted design. If u do get them make sure they have the "hat" over the headlight bulb, it helps disffuse the light onto the reflector. With a white truck, i say got...
  25. john palmer

Are u sure it has an airbag? I dont recall them ever recieving one due to the GVRW.
  26. Post a pic of your 87-96 and 97 F250's and up

93 F-150 XLT, modded 300, built E4OD, 79 D44 SAS, 5" lift, 35x12.50x15 BFG ATs on 15x8 Crager Soft 8's. Some minor exterior mods and factory rust option.88 F-350 Custom, 7.3IDI N/A, ZF 5 speed, D60, 10.25 LS, front leveled out, 315/75/16 ProComp Xtreme XTs on 16x8 white waggies. True duals...
  27. broke my rear axle...

looks like the slot for the C clip snapped off the axle. no big deal, just get another shaft and make sure nothing ejected itself into the true-trac. there is a pin that goes through the center of the carrier, with a set screw to hold it in place. once those are removed u press the axle shafts...
  28. Trim Items, where to get 'em?

    ouch, but thanx! appreciate it.
  29. DD. Build

i would say, 75% of the people with hopped up diesels dont fully understand when u add more fuel un eed to add more air. most guys throw on an intake/exhaust, tune and maybe injectors. with larger injectors it'll smoke more and push the EGTs to the borderline. adding a more efficent and larger...
  30. Trim Items, where to get 'em?

wow that is cheap, happen to have the PN for the 92-96 with the black reflective peice?
