I was expecting to see roll-out dollies on casters under the bottom shelf to hold and pull out parts. :(

So...my few months scouring for a 3.73 reverse cut gear set for the front axle has met with failure...for a good reason it seems...Ford never put them in a factory front axle....'smiliedoh'
So it appears that nobody makes a NA made gear in that ratio and cut...so now I have to think about it.
Dammit.

The Richmond Gear SD44R03 is an American Made reverse cut 3.73 for the Dana 44.

That's the "Sportsman" gear..and after talking with places like Randy's ring and pinion, it is NA designed and made in Italy.
Edit...I'm aware of what Summit says, but this was given to me right off the Country Of Orgin documentation..even US gear has farmed stuff out.
I may just wind up keeping the factory 3.50's and changing the speedo gear...I did go to the trouble of changing the 1/2 gear set so it might be for the better.
It was more for the rpm's and the converter stall speed.

I was going off the Made in the USA icon off their website, but I'd take the country of origin papers and a phone call to somebody who sells them over that any day.

I appreciate the post Taylor...I thought the same thing as well...as well as the US Gear.

Is 4.11 to low for you? I love my 4.11's - just offering the opinion on them.

No..but I already bought the lockers and the carrier break is 3.92...:headbang:
I should have checked on those gears beforehand.

Oh - well, that complicates things. I hope you find a solution where you can get your money out of the parts you already have.

It's either use the original 3.50's or go to aftermarket 3.73's

3.73s would give you a little bit best of both worlds for towing and cruising, but if you don't plan on using the truck for towing or off road and don't need the torque than the original 3.50s may be the way to go. I don't think you'll notice too much of a difference though going from just 3.50s to 3.73s. Different story if you were to go from 3.50s to 4.10s or vice versa.

It was more to get the rpm's up a bit at highway speed. This truck will see no towing or offroading.

Remember I changed to a deeper 1st/2nd gear in the transmission...all I want is to lift the rpms 2-300 at highway speed.
Plus the 3.73's will be almost perfect (within 20-30) rpm with 31's as the factory 3.50's with 29's.

Hey Duncan, Are you going to get new hoses for your A/C system? In the pics, yours look like they are in good shape, but I was just curious because in the future, I'm going to need some new ones. Mine are pretty weathered. And if you are, where would you get them?
