off road unlimited's kit is 2.5-3'' and that is the shortest one i've seen. how much lift do you plan to get from the s/d springs? i've only seen coilsprung ttb trucks with solid axle swaps use s/d springs, and it looks like they end up with about a 6'' lift from it.if you are trying to do...
as been said, leave the overdrive off for in town driving. if you don't plan to go faster than 55 you don't need it. it's the weakest gear in a tranny, and you gain nothing but excess heat build up by using it at lower speeds.
yes, except mine is black and rust with a sprinkle of crust thrown in for character. the only way i could get water to flow through it was at the blown out seem on the side.
yes, i already said they were the only place i could find them. i don't want to wait for shipping.i guess i'll just stick with the rig i made then.well that sucks. maybe i'll still look into it, but i doubt it.
if you can find it that would be awesome. i just tried all the sites and still came back with the same results. the only thing that pops up is the screw in carb filter or sorry no results.
doubtful unless they have a magic trick that partsguyed doesn't know. they wanted $7, so i'll be damned if i'd pay $22 for a 4''x1.5'' filter.you sure? i'll check, but i avoid them and there site. i hate autozone.
this goes along with a recent question of mine. my bronco didn't have bottom straps holding the tank in. as far as i remember my other 78 bronc did. this current one only had top straps and the skidplate holding it in. let me know what you find when you get a bronco tank, because paul couldn't...
i've been seeing ridiculous ordinances like that popping up around here. like you can't have a b b q grill with in 20 ft of a curb. what if you don't have a backyard? no grilling at all?
it was just bad all together. a choked down emissions 460 is not a happy motor to begin with. was a nice truck, but that particular setup left a lot to be desired, was hard to believe it had a big block under the hood.
don't worry about what year it is for the 80's trucks, just take a look. easy as that. an 8.8 has a cover. a 9'' doesn't. there is no way in hell you could mistake them. and the tags are dead simple to read to know what you are getting. if i were you i'd be looking for a 9'' with a tag reading...
eric, it would probably hang way too g/d low for your liking in the back. bronco tanks only come in 2 sizes that i know of, 25 and 33 gallon, and they are both really deep from top to bottom. i believe the rear tank in the trucks is only 19 gallons and it is flatter and wider front to back to...
don, as far as i know they only changed the 385 series heads when they went to efi. for some damn reason they always had issues with getting them to pass emissions, and iirc that was a major part of the head change.
because you can put the heads on any of the blocks and vice versa.if he's so badass, why don't his heads work for 68-78? only difference was like 20 thousandths deck hight. :flipoff:
i don't know much about the scj heads, but i believe they have to have their own intakes and headers because of having different port locations, but i doubt it's the same as fuelie heads, otherwise it would be all over the net.
quick answer: no.the ports are in different locations on the efi heads as compared to the carb heads, so the efi intake would not line up correctly.maybe i can get some more info for you from rob(monsterbaby) i know he mentioned something on another site about someone he knows that sells cnc...
save your money. for numbers that low, the d3 heads you have are plenty for 400hp with some simple porting. i'm no expert, but buying heads to get to 400hp on a 460 is money wasted in my eyes.
even if it was ford blue, i'm way too lazy to keep it clean so no one would even know. i'd love to have the block blasted and clear coated, think it would look nice.
i've never been a fan of the ford blue in an engine compartment. too bright, and the slightest bit of grease/oil/dirt makes it look horrible. i like black and greys/metal colors. but to each their own.
that's about what i have here. a few leftovers from the scrapfest. lucky for me, i have a friend or two with personal junkyards, but the one got hasseled by the epa, so his stash isn't that good anymore.
