I have to weld new perches for the leaf spings on the axle I bought. I measured the distance at 40 inches. I want to be absoluteley positive that is correct. Anyone ever measure the distance before? If not, could one of you measure it and let me know?
I didn't realize how difficult it would be to find a straight 6 240 motor. If I can't get the one I planned for then this would be my other choice.:headbang:
The guy I got the dark blue 69 model from has this as well. He hasn't been around for me to ask what year it is. It has narrow trim going down the side with no black rubber.
I currently have a Gen 6 F250 and just acquired this 1969 model. It needs a motor, trans and axle. The body is relativly rust free and that was also the price, FREEsmilieFordlogo
Looky what I just got! It's 1969. I need to put a motor, trans and rear axle in it. The price was too good to pass up. FREE! I just need to get it towed home.
I've been casually looking for some aluminum trim. The kind that goes in the dent. I found two cab corners and two door pieces for $44 plus shipping. They are in good shape.
So, I finally got around to taking the dash out. It had the holes from where AC vents used to be. I'll check the wiring tomorrow and fix and anything questionable. The pic of my dash is in my gallery. I would post it's removal and what the replacement looks like but I forgot how to load them...
Now that I am able to do some work on the truck again, I figured I would fix one thing first. Seems the PO had trouble with the fuel gauge. There was a yellow wire that ran up behind the dash and I mistakenly kicked it. I traced it back to the gas tank where it was spliced to the level sender...
I went to Paintscratch dot com site and punched in my paint code "P". It came up with SS-Dark Nectarine Poly PPG 2931 P 1978. It looks more like a dark metallic copper to me. They also want a small fortune for paint.
I mentioned buying a carb for my truck in another post. I put it on and it works fine. the problem is that it leaks at the throttle arm just behind the spring. I'm not too familiar with the inner workings of carbs. How can I fix this to stop the drip-drip-drip onto the intake?
Here is my "new" bed. It has surface rust mostly. Driver side well has typical rust through. Bed has some small spots. I took the panels off the tail gate. Some surface rust on it also. I'll sand it all and primer.smilieFordlogo
I got an old radio for $5. I don't have a radio in the truck currently. So, to keep a stock look I was going to put this in. I don't drive the truck as a daily so the lack of stations is no biggie. The problem I ran into is it has a light blue wire with red stripe and 3 black wires. One which...
I was doing some looking around on eBay for different parts. I ran across a pair of new, brown door panels. I couldn't believe my luck. LMC or DC doesn't list brown and for my brown interiored/exteriored truck I couldn't beat it. I bought some "salvaged" ones last year only because the truck...
I really need a new carb for this truck. It sticks in high rev. All I was doing was backing it in the driveway and it was kicking at leat 50000 rpms. I wasn't touching the pedal at all. What CFM carb would work best on a strong 400 engine?
So on my 93 Aerostar the upper control arm bushings are worn out. I took it to a local shop. The guy snapped one bolt and couldn't get the other three out. He said they would have to cut a few holes through the frame to get to the nuts and put new ones on.
I scrouged up two 8 lug rims I needed for the back of the truck. After I cleaned them and got the old tires off I noticed something. One is 7 1/2 inches wide the the other is 7. Is that a major problem or would I be fine with that?
So the spot welds holding the raditor in place gave way. It fell causing damage to it, the shroud and upper hose. Looks like I'll be doing some shopping.
I have a 93 Aerostar with a 3.0 engine. I've had it since it had 4 miles on the odometer. It's acting a bit odd at idle. Almost like it surges and drops off. It continually does this. I unplugged the O2 sensor and there was no change. Mileage is horrific. I'm also getting a very loud buzz from...
