Working on the 50 ford again!!

I used a brushable seam sealer made by evercoat automotive. I bought it through car quest auto parts. I'm not sure how long they are going to carry it here at least . Car quest was bought out by advance auto parts and are closing the car quest store and combining it into the advance store. I guess as long as there is a car quest store that sells body and paint supplies you can find the stuff.

That seam sealer is some tough stuff,I bought some for my pickup ,
got mine at a regular paint store.

Nice work!..YelloThumbUp

The front glass can stay in the headliner lucky just tucks behind the inner window trim with metal tabs made into the roof of the car. Rear glass is hopefully coming out this afternoon we have to be very careful not to chip the paint around the seal because the paint job that was done years ago was doe over the rubber instead of being masked off.

Took a break from the ford today and cleaned up my car. It's next in line for some major work. I have an engine to swap in it and floors to repair also but it drives nice I hate to down it long but it needs done before September for the rod run.

Beautiful Stude!

Thanks it was one of cars from my uncles collection along with 50 ford. He left it to me specifically in his will. Only 1700 GT Hawks were made in 1964 and this one is #1415. Factory 4 speed with optional power disc brakes and full dash. I hate to pull the engine but it needs some attention. It burns oil pretty bad and the carb is also not working correctly. I have a complete good Stude performance Avanti R1 engine that I'm going to reseal and paint then swap in. The company made some impressive performance engines right before the closed up.

Put the ford back together enough to pull it out so I can do a major clean up. Hopefully it's going to upholstery soon. Also have another car come back that was in the collection. My aunt sent the 1949 Studebaker business coupe out three years ago and it is painted and ready to come home. So I need space to try and fit it in the building.

Picked up one of the other cars from the collection tonight. A lot of work left on this one. Not happy with the state of the car after the guy had it for 2 years. Now I have to basically finish up a freshly painted car. It will be cool and unique when it's done!! But the 50 will be done before this one.

Hope to get back on the ford soon. Started another project that I want done before the end of the month. I'm going to swap engines in my 64 hawk. Have the Avanti R1 289 in clean and reseal mode right now. Parts are going o hold me up a little but the ford is my next thing on the list to finish after my hawk.

Almost had the 64 hawk close to completion but a throw out bearing held me up. Waiting for that to arrive so I can put the engine in. It's all painted and resealed now so a few days after the part shows up I will have it on the road again. Looking forward to getting back on the 50 soon!!

It looks like candy!

You can sure see the difference in that intake manifold ,the ports are
much larger ,is that a back woods secret?....:suspicious:

A lot of guys that work on Stude engines have adapted caddy intakes onto them. I don't how much gain it is but they look cool. I have a offy aluminum intake but I decided not to use it because the ports and runner sizes were smaller and it was made to run an older 50s Rochester 4bbl. A few guys out there will machine the offy to work with my later style carter but it would cut some of the higher rpm power. The factory intake flows pretty good. The Avanti R1 engine I'm putting in has mid to higher rpm power band unlike the standard performance that was in The hawk. This thing will be a little more fun to drive once I get it going. Like I really needed it to go faster.

I wish I had enough money to build one of the R4 Stude 304 engines they are rare. I found a picture of one never seen one in person.
