What about my ceiling fan? That had to be 2nd best.![]()
I think I got you for that...
On edit...for those of you that said it would only last 6 pages...you are now officially wrong.

You know you really need to change your PPP!![]()
Can you make it a Ford diesel for me?Pfft... Germans
I think I'll invent a car that has two engines in it, in case 1 breaks![]()
In my opinion, both have good points, and both have bad. I've replaced hundreds of water pumps because the fan or clutch went causing an imbalance. Remember the flex fans breaking and drilling the hoods and other components? The e-fans need different diagnostic skills to find an overheating issue. E-fans are a requirement on front wheel drive vehicles with the transverse engines, and their track record has been pretty good. I have replaced many of these fans as well when they've burned up. I think its a matter of personal preference. Whatever headaches you are prepared to deal with is the route you should take.
Of course someone who hasn't done it would say this... You absolutely CAN feel the difference. Ask any of the efan guys on this site.wouldn't waste my time installing a efan in somthing that had a mechanical fan just for a few HP that you most likely won't "feel" the difference.

Have you done an efan swap? No? Well I have.I don't think you're going to 'feel' a 10-15 hp gain in your driving. I could be wrong, but it sounds like quite the exaggeration to me.
You betcha. Not sure if we can squeeze the t-bird fan in with your 300-- I've seen people having clearance problems because the block is longer... But we might be able to take some measurements and work some magicMaybe we could talk at some point, an efan setup would be pretty cool on my truck.![]()

I'd be hard pressed to make the argument that the efan turned my truck into a dragster... But you'd be damned impressed if you drove my bigass truck, it really gets out of it's own way, especially for being so heavy. And that's been accomplished with out any major engine mods.I've never known 10-15...hell even 25 hp to give a seat of the pants improvement. But you can't argue with the numbers...
I don't have exact figures but rough costs...I know it's been covered before...but do any of you guys have an all inclusive cost list of the swap??????
That comment caught my attention too. I've never known 10-15...hell even 25 hp to give a seat of the pants improvement. But you can't argue with the numbers...if a swap can help add 14hp, it may be worth it. I'm still debating, because (knock on wood)...I've yet to have any issues with a mechanical fan, yet again haven't had any issues with an efan either.
I don't have exact figures but rough costs...
Junkyard t-bird fan = $30
2x 40amp Hella relays = ~$10-15 for both
1x 75amp Bosch relay = ~$30
1x 40amp fuse = ~$5
Misc spools or wire = ~$15 (with extra wire leftover)
Misc crimp connectors = ~$10
Brackets = homemade (by Rick) [can also use the radiator zip-tie things]
Most people have wire and crimp connectors (or solder) at their house already so those costs could potentially be $0. Also-- after doing my install and seeing that a 40amp fuse doesn't blow when the high speed is being used, I'm fairly certain that I could just use three 40amp relays instead of using the 75amp on the high-speed circuit.
Remember the 14HP with a mechanical fan was with a locked clutch, which rarely happens!
And Chris still hasn't addressed the efficiency of the alternator, and electric motor, which I brought up.....
I think what they are noticing is called the "Placebo Effect"!!!![]()
