Yeah, I've developed some great friendships over the years because of FTF and have received help with my trucks AND with some things personally....even gained a few clients, but yeah FB groups have really made it so much easier to post and stay in touch these days.

I here that ,it is not only this forum ,but it has really effected all forums
alike ,I had seen it happening for the past 15 years ,an it has effected
4 or 5 of the RC forums that I was on through those years so bad that
they have been literely wiped off the net ,an another about to!...

It is sad ,I try to pop in to at least say hi every now & then an to see what
folks are up to ,I had retired from working an don't drive my Bump anymore ,
so it was pointless to tag & insure the truck this year!
I miss driving it ,but here in Cali. ,the price of gas ,tags an insurance is
just too costly for me to have a Sunday drive every now & then!.....

It is what it is gents, for sure FB has had an effect.

You cannot do on FB what you can do on sites like this. Posting part numbers, parts catalog pics, sources for NOS parts...there's just not enough space to do it.

When I gave a guy some info, the clueless so-and-so called me a spammer. Plus I don't care for the language, bickering, etc

I joined 3 groups (1961/66 & (2) 1973/79) on FB, was a member for a month, then dropped all 3 groups...all 3 are IMO...worthless.

Ken Payne who founded FTE then sold it to IB has a new site, it's not setting the world on fire either, but it seems to be holding its own.

At least one member typing in this thread is a member there, as I am.

Dennis (Mil1ion) passed away, he had more info for 1973/79's than anyone. When he first joined FTF, sent me an email telling me to join.

My response was..."Dennis, I've been a member of FTF since March 2007."

btw: Some FB members are as dumb as dodo birds. In fact, they're so dumb that the only way they know it's a Ford, is because it says so on the truck somewhere.

I agree with the fb deal, and only use it for the market place.

There are several other members I brought here from Ken's site too, trying to bring the place back. I dearly love this place, and will try to keep it floating.

Dunkin opened a new heavy equipment side for them. Maybe it will help. IDK us old farts dont like change. Lol
