I would never spend 2k on that non-running truck lol

Agreed...something like that would be $500 rig around here.

It's about a 4 hour drive from where I am... If I take the truck, I can get there on a tank of gas. Might just take the Nissan up there to save a little. (More like a lot!)

Yeah, but nothings better than a road trip in a dent. As a said, a 5 hour trip in one of my rigs would run me $80...it would be less for you and your ol girl needs to stretch her legs.

I didn't know Advance Auto made engines.

Reman'd long blocks.

there's quiet a few Bronco's in my area...here's just a couple

I know the guy who owns this one... I heard he already sold it though, and when I went by his house a couple days ago he had a (CLEAN!!) F-150 sittin' there. So it's quiet possible he has already sold it: http://knoxville.craigslist.org/cto/1792183783.html

Looks like I might need to take a trip back to Knoxville. I really liked that white 78, red/tan 79 and the olive drab one.

ok long story short. the Engine IS brand new. it needs some tweaking and adjusting, its definatly a boat anchor. but does have a good bit of torque. the rear is welded and is a PITA turnin real sharp. the steering is decent, the brakes are decent. the whole front axle has been gone through.

and for the bad... the rust... theres a good bit of it. mostly around the rear fenders.

and the exhaust... i drove it 2 miles round trip and wanted to blow my head off so i could get the headache to go away. its super super loud.

the tranny needs either a ton of adjustment on the Modulator valve or a new modulator valve.
heres a video...

A couple hundred in panels, JY tranny and 9" rears are a dime a dozen. Depending on the price, might be worth it. However, that doesn't look anywhere near a brand new engine.

The block is new, long tube headers. Valve covers were reused, along with a few other components.

By the time I replace the passenger panel and patch the driver's side one, I'd be doing good.

Overall price is $1200. Talk him down to $1000?

Got prrof or receipts on that new block? What in the hell did he need a new block for any way? I'm still not buying it...you see all that rust under the distributor on a supposedly new block? Other than the air cleaner, nothing about that engine bay says new. Not to mention how rusty those long tubes are. Sorry man, I'd need documentation before I'd believe it. I'm not saying he didn't tell you that stuff...but it's better to be skeptical up front than to get burned later.

I hear ya. Chris says that he has receipts. - He saw it today, so I guess he'd be the one to talk to more on this topic.

It's sad,I think I see Bronco Ranger XLT emblems. That was probably a really good lookin truck back in it's day.

Anyways, screw the Bronco,I want what's behind it in the 5th photo.

That's what I though. If I get it, I'll be sure to restore it to its former XLT glory!

And Chris said that his F-150 was hawt.

I would venture to say the engine might be a reman. Look at the black paint on the heads. Ben you probably wouldn't think my engine is new either since the paint is burning off a bit even though I used some 1500 degree BBQ paint for the heat resistance. I wouldn't pay more than $600 for that POS, but that's just me. A friend of mine bought a snowplow truck with working plow with less rust then that for $600. And what's all that ghetto wiring for? All red to match the fact that the truck at some point in it's life was red?

That's a better idea. Too bad the back seat is a different color than the front.

But the difference is you are in the middle of fixing your truck. Not looking to purchase an overpriced rust bucket LOL. But at least the panels are rusted enough you have to replace them to fix up the cobbled up job someone did trying to fill the holes for the chrome trim in the one picture.

Austin did you give Chris money to buy a Blizzard at the DQ across the street from that Bronco? LOL

True...but there's a difference between burn off/bubbling and rust. I'd be veeeeeeeeeeery skeptical of that Bronco. But I'm with you, if he can get it for under $800, it would probably be worth it. I'd still worry about the engine not being 'right' even though it's supposedly new, the tranny isn't 'right'...and a welded rear end is not street friendly. All very major components that can get pretty pricey to fix. But as I said earlier, 9" are a dime a dozen, I know where 5 of them are at right now for under $100 ready to be thrown in. I know where 3 C6's are in various conditions under $250 and the body panels are a couple hundred and some time. Plus getting the engine right. So you buy it for $1000 and put 2k in to it after labor and parts are factored in. As I said before, you can get a lot of Bronco for 3k.
