Got prrof or receipts on that new block? What in the hell did he need a new block for any way? I'm still not buying it...you see all that rust under the distributor on a supposedly new block? Other than the air cleaner, nothing about that engine bay says new. Not to mention how rusty those long tubes are. Sorry man, I'd need documentation before I'd believe it. I'm not saying he didn't tell you that stuff...but it's better to be skeptical up front than to get burned later.

he did have the reciept showing where he had bought it at the beginning of Feb and swapped it in. it just needs the carb tuned and the timing adjusted.

the intake, valve covers, oil pan, and carb are all from the previous engine.

It's sad,I think I see Bronco Ranger XLT emblems. That was probably a really good lookin truck back in it's day.

Anyways, screw the Bronco,I want what's behind it in the 5th photo.

oh yeah, its a 96 F150 351W with 70k original miles on it. no emblems anywhere, 33" tires on it. it was bad ***.

True...but there's a difference between burn off/bubbling and rust. I'd be veeeeeeeeeeery skeptical of that Bronco. But I'm with you, if he can get it for under $800, it would probably be worth it. I'd still worry about the engine not being 'right' even though it's supposedly new, the tranny isn't 'right'...and a welded rear end is not street friendly. All very major components that can get pretty pricey to fix. But as I said earlier, 9" are a dime a dozen, I know where 5 of them are at right now for under $100 ready to be thrown in. I know where 3 C6's are in various conditions under $250 and the body panels are a couple hundred and some time. Plus getting the engine right. So you buy it for $1000 and put 2k in to it after labor and parts are factored in. As I said before, you can get a lot of Bronco for 3k.

yeah, like i told austin its gonna be a lil bit of work. but overall for a trail runner for the time being then in the future restoring it, its a really good base to start off of.

as for the tranny the tranny is fine it just needs some adjusting on the modulator valve. the rear axle was weird to drive with its like 5x's weirder than the first time with my new axle with a locker in it.

Yeah I would agree with Ben about the $3k Broncos. There are alot on Craigslist that are worth the $3k. I think you would spend more fixing this truck than starting out putting more money into buying one to begin with. If you can grab it for $600 and beat the piss out out of it off road for awhile it might be worth it. I wouldn't want to drive with a welded rear on the street, especially every day. I also think Ben's 2k is a very conservative estimate too. After all we are just going mainly by pictures. And looking at it again the rust on the block does look a little worse than I initially thought. I would want receipts. But even with receipts I wouldn't give more than $600, IMO.

Who puts an engine in in February and doesn't adjust the carb. or the timing by July? If that guy is a mechanic I hope he doesn't charge by the hour :rofl2: Seems a little silly to me LOL.

he has receipts, and i saw them and held them in my hand. i personally think if he can get him down to around 8-900 bucks it would be a decent deal.

me and him talked bout that he works alot. like 12 hour days i believe is what he said. so he dont really have the time for it. it aint way off its just a lil off. its got some rediculous torque just doesnt have the HP im used too, so my interpretation of the way its running may be a lil off since that was the first time ive driven something with a 351M.

With all of the obvious body work along with everything else needed, I believe I'd stay away from that trail of tears and heartache Bronco......It has money pit written all over it.

I saw this Bronco on ebay today when there was only one minute remaining. In my opinion it would've made a much better project.

I wanna know what you use as a hook up point for towing that causes the top to fly off :rofl2: Still looks like a way better deal though.

You aren't really going to buy that are you? I'd hate to see you waste your money, Austin.
