I thought the bolt pattern on the block housing stayed the same but don't know about the intake . I believe the newer ones do use a different head . Somebody else will know for sure about the intake.:wavey:
I have never known of the FE engines having that problem but anything is possible . There can be a problem with the 302 and other engines of that design , because the standard trany engines use a little shorter starter. If you put it with an automatic trany it may not mesh with the flexplate...
My 73 does the same thing and three other dent sides i had ended up doing it too. I wonder if it's pretty common thing ? The ones with the dual tanks worked good until i switched over to the rear tank behind the axle. Maybe it is a problem with the rear tank float only since the others would...
. So again is it the 80 to 90 F-series truck power regulators that will work. I have to know for sure what will fit, not just a guess before i will buy the template. I would be doing it in a 73 f-100..
So this template will show me where to drill the mounting holes to use power unites from 80 to 90 F series trucks ? How about the small ranger and bronco II , will they fit the pattern ? I did take a look at it on E-bay .___:)
When the lady on her cell phone runs her small foreign car in to the back of your heavy loaded dent side super cab , knocks the mud loose from under your bumper , sloshes the coffee in your cup around you are holding and destroys the front of her little car. True story as i was waiting for the...
Has anybody used coil springs from "MOOG" ? The ones on the front of my 73 F-100 are in need of replacements. I can get the "MOOG" springs for less money than " NAPA " want for theirs . Just wondered if the " MOOG " springs were as good as the " NAPA " ones ?__:)
I don't know yet , i'v had five 2 wd dentsides and a 79 bronco , the only 4x4 , but i don't remember how it was mounted. I'm guessing the crossmember to steering link. I'm going to order the heavy duty one of the two , then we'l find out.
Well they make them so i guess the two moving pieces makes no difference.
Rough Country part # 87425 and # 84141 . Let you know how they work out later.
I found the answer, did a search and found " Rough country suspension systems " has them for 65 - 79 , f-100 , 150 , 250 , 2 WD twin I-beam . Not a bad price but i'm still going to look around some more . So i guess that takes care of that .
There is no axle housing on a 2 wd twin I-beam. I said i have seen them on 4x4s so i assumed every body would know i was asking about a 2 wd twin I-beam. Maybe i could put one on each axle ? Thanks for trying.
Does anybody make a kit to install a steering stabilizer on a twin I-beam truck. The kind that has what looks like a shock absorber . I have seen them for 4x4s and single I-beam axles , but they don't make it clear if it will work on the twin I-beam. I drive on some pretty rough mountain roads...
I think your gearing is about right for what you use it for. You could try 3:50 , but i don't think you will like it. Any higher and you have pretty well ruined any hauling , in that case you may as well get a little ranger with a 4/cy engine. I say keep it the same gearing and work on other...
I have been watching Craigs list in my area for one just to use as storage. I had three different supercabs before i got my single cab and really miss that storage. Plus i don't like the sun on the back of my neck and one of those would keep it off.I haven't found any in my area at all.
[confused] Interesting about relocating or spacing out the IMC . Is this a heat problem in some states ? Since the 80s i'v owned 5 dentsides plus my 79 bronco and have never had any problems with the ICM. All of these trucks were work trucks in my construction trade and used daily putting...
Yeah, short camper shell , pretty popular out here a few years ago until everybody started making big cab pickups. The cowboys liked them . Pull their horse trailer, throw a little hay in the back and keep their saddle inside that shell. Gotta take care of them saddles and a good safe place to...
PCV not connected to vac source = NOT WORKING.Not getting the engine heated up very long with short trips = sludge.Washing the carb only = NOT FIXED.PCV installed with no vac source makes it a plug for the hole in the valve cover and nothing else.If you don't know what a part is for...
I wish all ford coil springs were as easy to change out as they are on our trucks. Try doing it to an early mustang or falcon if you want a day of living on the edge. Very hard to do even with a spring compressor allthough i have done them with just jacks when i was young and foolish. I'm...
You should not have any problems other than a lot of work. I don't know what year they started putting the long box on the f-100 . I had a 79 f-100 , short box and it was the same as my 73 f-100 accept for trim and a few other things like the wiring which is a little different. Good luck keep us...
73 to 79 same if 2 wheel drive , 73 f-100 i have is a short box the f-150s i had were the long box . 72 and older are narrow in the rear area. If it's a 4x4 , i can't help you.:)
I never took the time to try it after finding a used trany cooler for $20.00. A friend of mine had a B&M 70268 one that had been use very little. I checked that part number and they sell for around $65.00 more or less. It is a little bigger than the one i had ,so i'm good now with it. Thanks for...
