Just got hired as a light mechanic (oil changes tire rotations, filters, fluids etc.) at a Ford dealership.
Can you recommend which size impact sockets I'll need for all the different Ford lug nuts out there?
Thank you. Just the location of the pipes would make it fairly easy to run a set of true duals, although I'm trying to get away as cheap as possible so I'll check Jegs and Summit. I never thought of them.
I have a 1994 5.0 shortbed. The resonator and cat back broke off the pipes coming from the manifolds. What is left is the 2 - 2inch pipes solidly coming out. The resonator broke off cleanly.
Do you guys know of any "Y" pipe to take the pipes and join them into 1? I've checked Autozone and...
yep it's a '93 wrangler. it had 33's on it when I got it and I swapped down to 31's on it because the 33's stuck out way past the feneder flares. Now I'm back on the 33 kick so I'll put the 31's on the truck.
OK polarbear, you got me sold! I currently have 31's on my Jeep, I will put the 33's on the Jeep and go with the 31's on the F150. I like the way yours looks. Thanks.
my truck is a shortbed single cab with a 302, auto, 3.55 gears. Currently have 235x75 BFGs on it. I do no offroading, and only drive a couple miles a day. Almost no highway miles.Power isn't an issue, only looks and rubbing. I love the looks of trucks with a lift and 33's. Unfortunately a...
my buddy is giving me the tires off his Jeep. I can't turn them down for free but I don't want to pay to have them mounted and then find out they won't fit. Thanks for the help.
My '94 F150 302 E4OD will drive ok but sometimes at highway speeds around 65 it will start to buck a little.... sort of like if I was letting off the gas and then quickly hitting it again. I don't know if this is the "shudder" that everyone talks about? But if it starts acting up and I switch...
hey Smokey, I started using the T&I enamel about 8 years ago when you could get a gallon for $19. I've painted at least 8 vehicles with it over the years, and the price has been shooting up !Then about a 2 years ago a buddy told me to try the "Restoration Series" enamel. I hated to spend...
Also, if you really want to go cheap pricewise you can buy the Tractor Supply Valspar Tractor and Implement paint. At my store it's 32 bucks a gallon, and the hardener I believe is 15bucks, and you can thin it with Naptha.I've painted the majority of my vehicles with this paint in the past...
I buy the Tractor Supply paint that is called "Restoration" It's an automotive grade enamel made by Valspar. You can buy the special thinner and hardener that is specific to this paint.I've used their tractor and implement enamel in the past also. It's cheaper pricewise and the quality...
I'm going to do some body work on my '94 shortbed F150 and then paint it International Harvester Red.I've got a gift card to get the paint at tractor supply. I've painted about 10 vehicles using this paint and I like it (for the price!).My question is.......... didn't somebody on this...
thanks guys, I erased all codes and triple checked the codes and it turns out it's the TPS. I tried the voltage test and got nothing so I'm going to replace the TPS.I'm wondering though how this would cause the clunking? Any ideas?
When my E4OD, 302, F150 shifts from 1st gear to 2nd the truck clunks real hard. It only happens intermittently. Just started doing it yesterday.Fluid level is good. Been told it could be rear speed sensor, or transmission.Truck shifts at proper times, no vibration in driveline, runs...
My 1994 shortbed f150 with a 302 and E4OD runs ok but when I shift it into reverse it stalls out. anyone have any ideas what it could be? It starts right up and will run fine in forward gears but stalls as soon as I drop it into R.
Thanks for the pic, I have a plastic cover over my TB. I'm wondering if much coolant got into the intake. Also hoping the heat didn't do anything to the head gasket or whatnot. I'm a newbie on having engine problems like this. I just got the truck on weds. I thought it ran well but the...
yes, it was the throttle body. I don't have a camera and also have no idea how to post pics. While the steam was blowing out I looked all over at all the hoses and everywhere and the only place it was coming from was under the plastic cover on top of the throttle body.BTW this is a 5.0...
Just took the truck out to test it out on the highway. Got it up to 90 mph no problems and got back down to highway speed.turned around and did the same thing.....punched it from rolling speed and had it floored til it only went up to around 70 mph and wouldn't go higher. lots of smoke out...
Got my '94 F150 with 302 yesterday. An ex-mechanic buddy of mine was showing me how to clean the MAF sensor and told me to get some MAF sensor cleaner spray from the auto parts store.Do you guys ever clean it, and is this good advice? He seems to know what he's talking about but I wanted...
The truck I'm getting is a '94 Xlt shortbed with a 302 and 4wheel drive. The owner told me it has a limited slip rear end, how to tell? And I see by my Haynes manual it needs friction modifiers added to rearend lube. Also gotta ask.......... How do I shift an automatic locking hub from 2hi to...
To answer Cliff, I'm from Pennsylvania. And around my area they throw salt on the roads as soon as it flurries!I went back and checked out the truck I looked at yesterday. It's got a rusty frame and the bed will need some major work. The frame, I can clean up and treat. The bed sides are...
I can't imagine what it would be like to live in an area where vehicles aren't rust buckets after 10 years or less! Around here there are 2 kinds of older Ford trucks........ ones that have repair panels on the wheelwells, and ones that are rusted out around the wheelwells but haven't been...
Thanks. After an afternoon of reconsideration LOL! I may go back tomorrow and give the truck one more good going over. I really want a shortbed with a 302. And my truck ain't all that much better, so I may again check out how badly rusted the thing is and go from there. In my area it's...
