Just took a look at the tires on the Ranger, and they were manufactured in April of 2003, so they are gonna be replaced very soon. The dealer must be too stupid to have the mechanic check the date on the tire. They have about 30% tread left, but they are starting to show signs of age so i'm gonna go ahead and replace them before anything major goes wrong with them.

I doubt the guy in bay even pays attention, because after all, no consumer pays attention just like you didn't. Had you noticed that and pointed it out when the truck was purchased, you may have gotten a brand spankin new set with the truck.

Nope, the thought didn't cross my mind to check the date on them. I was too busy checking everything else. I knew they would have to be replaced eventually though. There isn't too much wrong with them right now, there's only a few hairline cracks in the tread that I can see, but I still want to replace them.

I still don't think they would have put new tires on it, because I had to ***** about a bunch of other things that needed to be addressed before we even bought the truck, and they were a little reluctant to fix those. They wanna get the vehicles out without spending too much money on them, but also for the biggest profit. There isn't one dealership in this town that would put new tires on a vehicle they're selling. Tires really don't worry me, I can replace them. I would eventually have to replace them anyway.

Welp, when i first got Burt the exhaust dumped out right underneath the cab sooooooo we had put on 2 1/4 and I had the feeling not only was it killing my power but also my fuel economy. Last night I got a buddy of mine to put 3 inch into a turbomuffler with a turndown on Burt then me n him advanced the timing a little bit and turned the IP up a few flats...hauls some serious *** now. He also took the liberty of pressure testing the AC system on it and found only one leak, which was an O-ring that got replaced.....now i just need to purchase some refrigerant and the AC will work!

Yesterday, installed brand new chrome center caps in my wheels.

Today, I heard and saw lug nuts fly off my left front, followed by a loud *POP*, and the feeling of being pushed off to the side of the road, then the frontleft tire sliding.

I lost all my lugnuts, and the hub sat down into the center of the wheel... it came close to sliding down the blacktop, which could have been expensive. as I was doing atleast 40MPH. I just put 3lugs back on it, and limped it back home. Gonna look at it whenever I get around to it.

That's interesting... Time for new lug studs?

Drove it to work. It's only one mile - not nearly enough time to become one with my truck!

Yeah, I have the same problem. I take it out 2-3 times a week, but only to do local errands that allows me to drive it 5-10 miles total round trip. When I go to shows, that gives me plenty of bonding time as they're usually an hour or so away one way.

Thermostat is still seepin on the 86 even with a gasket and lots of sealant. I think its either a warped thermostat housing or the manifold might not be machined correctly. Gonna pull it off this weekend and see whats what. Also took the heater control apart on the 85 and tryin to track down a new heater cable for it.

I pulled Red out of the carport so we could get Halloween stuff down from the attic. And I cursed the Bronco for only having two speed wipers.

The other day something fell from a tree (branch or acorn I guess) and broke one of my roof light lenses. I just ordered 5 new ones. Was going to go with Blue Oval but they wanted $15 for shipping. LMC wanted a little less per lense and was only $10 for shipping. It came out to $48.45 with shipping instead of $57. Every penny counts for me right now so guess which one I chose... :headbang:

Let us know about the quality of the lenses.

I will. I'll probably have to grind out the part that will most likely say 'Made in China' before installing them :rofl2:
