Tried to start it and nothing, I'm guessing it's the battery since last time this happened we plugged in the charger and it fired up. It's looking like time for a new battery. While I'm at it I'm going to pick up some spray paint and new battery cables since mine are horrible. I'll probably end up doing this two weeks from now since were going to the lake next week.

Yeah the PO didnt keep up the best matinence on it I added some to it right after we did the rear brakes and after gettin it up to highway speed a couple times and drivin maybe ten miles it leaves a puddle about the size of a silver dollar after settin over night. So theyre probly toast but hopefully not so bad as to wear the races out. Might replace em anyways dependin on how much they are.

Why don't you like poly bushings? I'm assuming not as much give....but they do have their places...like swaybars...

Because the truck is 40 years old and has the original body mount bushings I want to replace the original mounting hardware as well. Bill told me there are no kits to replace the hardware completely, and the special washers that are required are about like $40/each. Would need 8 total, so decided to go with the DC kit instead.

I haven't done it yet, but I'm thinking of mounting an ammo box under the hood to hold some screwdrivers wrenches and a qt. of oil so that I don't always have to drag out the bigger toolbox that is locked up in my bed box. Thoughts before I drill the holes?

^^^Go for it...just make sure your hood will still shut after the box is mounted, and it's not too tall. Lots of guys do this over on FSB. If it were me, I'd mount it right beside the windshield reservoir.

That's what I was thinking because I would never really see the need for a second battery so I might as well make use of the empty space. I will definitely make sure the hood closes too. Would be bad drilling holes for no reason.

I put one on my 76 right where that second battery would go and it worked great I just used a little 6 or 8 inch tall one and drilled two holes and put some big flat washers on each side. Also went and got plates for the 86 and 95 bucks later were good to go. Gonna take it to work and see how it drives on the highway. The rear end is full so I dont think itll do hurt them bearings much more than they already are. Also cleaned the windows real good inside and out yesterday and go figure it decides to pour today.

So it did make it better, but for right now...it sounds like my last line of defense is a band adjustment before an entire rebuild becomes apparent. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Although, I got a buddy from a local site with a good, relatively fresh C6/205 combo he said I could have for $50. So I think I'd swap before I rebuilt.

I'm territoral by nature...that would have been grounds for f**king with you, especially if you're so incompetent that you can't park your rig #1, #2 that you parked in my spot.

Your truck would not be running if you took my spot knowing full well it was. Parking like that is just asking for trouble. Have some respect for people. The other day I had to tell my neighbor that his food delivery people shouldn't park in my driveway. I don't know where people get this sense of entitlement to do whatever they please with no consideration for others.

I half a$$ed my Radio Bezel. Since everybody who has a Ranger Lariat bezel they're not using likes to be a ********** with them, I made a temporary cover plate to cover the blank spot where the words Ranger Lariat would go on my current XL panel. I didn't feel like buying spray paint just for this project, so I found a bottle of gloss black, and brushed it on. Makes it shine more than I wanted. Shows more imperfections too. Oh well. I then carefully wrote the Ranger Lariat design on to it, only to not have the placement correct. But, you can't tell from a distance, so I could care less. Eventually I'll get my hands on a real one. I has pic too.

My mocked up one:

I am going to pull a part Friday,I can check there for one if you want.

I'd really appreciate it man! Thanks.

Taylor, I agree. Even the Burlwood on the 6th gens looks better than that of the 8th gens.

The 8th gen in a way is pretty fugly everywhere but it isn't ugly, the interior is really practically laid out too and the captains chairs are really nice.
