I dont want to know what a srt10 motor will run, even if it is used...

I have a 351 already aaron, i want to build a bbf for the truck...

Some where along the lines i need to find a DD....
:)
Im thinking i might build that ranger with the 351 but keep it mild enough for daily driving and not kill my wallet...

Or not who knows... :)

If you want something interesting and fast try a small block Ford in a Volvo 240.

The Volvo 240 has great suspension, a decent rear axle, and isn't too heavy. They're also cheap.

347 stroker and a 5 speed would be a good choice.

The ultimate sleeper. There's a few running around with small block Chevies, but I haven't seen one yet with a Ford.

I am a truck guy though bob, if i were to do a car, i think it would have to be a muscle car.
I do like the idea though.
I will give it some thought and do some searching.

Volvo 240 station wagon.

Cut off the roof past the front seats.

Rebuild it into a Ranchero/Unibody tribute rig.

Plus Ford used to own Volvo, it'd be a great homage.

Unique as hell.

Volvo 240's are also rear drive. Makes a V-8 swap easier. Engine compartments are huge. They're a good candidate for performance build up.

They still compete as rally cars in the vintage classes over in Europe.

I have a hard to get copy of the Volvo Performance Handbook. Lists a bunch of suspension/body/chassis parts to build a handling 240. Springs from other cars that fit. Really handy book to have, and very hard to get. Been out of print a while. It's yours for the asking. Just send me your address if you need it.

The one you want is a GLT. It will have the anti-spin rear axle, upgraded suspension, and the sport wheels with z-rated tires.

That's the one I had. An 82 GLT wagon. Unfortunately when I got it back from the sandblaster I found the body structure rusted and rotted beyond saving. They're unibody cars.

Saved a bunch of the hard to find GLT bits, including the wheels, for a future project.

Volvo dealers still carry a large inventory of parts for these cars at good prices.

There's forums, webpages, and the like for these cars. Good community of enthusiasts.

Volvo 240 came in 4 door sedan, station wagon, and 2 door coupe. The coupes are rare, rare, rare.

Guy I went to college with (only met him once or twice) put a Ford 302 in a Volvo 240 coupe. (Might have been a 242...I don't know my Volvos well.)

Sold it cheap, too...if I'd had the cash I'd have bought it in a heartbeat.

*He put a V8 and six-speed from a Camaro in a 740, too.
