Nope, its official. I'll be working...........AGAIN..........

Down in Dallas this time.:headbang:

Gunner

If you see a 6'-4", 230+ pound guy driving a goldish colored S-10 (aluminum toolbox in the back) between Fort Worth and Arlington...give him a big wave! :wavey:

That my little cousin. Some folks in the family got the small gene.

Well....what the plans folks? Anyone else still think they can attend? Gunner can't make it. :(

I think the 56 is ready to go. All the levels are checked. The tires are full of air. I put the battery charger on it for about 10 minutes, but it really didn't need it. The generator works fine apparently.

I drove it down to the car wash last night. It has been sitting under the trees out here for a while.

I even washed the windows today. The bugs on the window were a mess. UGH!

I have to be at dialysis at 7 AM in Harrison tomorrow. I will probably leave Harrison about noon. No clue where we will stop for lunch though. I do not like to eat for a while after I get unhooked. :(

Ryan: I am sure there are some car clubs in your area. I would bet as big at KC is there are cruise ins and shows all summer long.

They have them locally a few times a month, but I never knew it existed.....

Yes...I was at the cruise in again tonight. Gotta loosen up the ride for the trip tomorrow. YelloThumbUp It had not been driven since Thursday.

Sorry Brian, I'm not going to be able to be there after all. :( I hope to be able to meet you soon though. It would be such a pleasure!

You can tell he has never met me! :rolling laugh:

Maybe next time.

I need to get up to springfield more often.

Never been up in your area (that I recall anyway).

I'm still an hour and a half north east of Springfield. :) Or 40 mins if you're in my truck. ROFLMAO

In mine...thats 2 hours or more. 'hah'

I have hit 60 on flat ground, but it feels like it is wound out pretty good.

I need to get a tach, since I can't hear the engine very well. [confused]

There are shows here. I went to two large shows this summer and had a good time. I feel like a misfit at small things because I don't exactly drive a show truck.

I do not now...nor will I ever own a show truck. Mine is rough, but I cruise in right along side the other ones with fancy drivetrains, AC, and nice paint jobs.

I bet I have more fun than most of them do. YelloThumbUp

I passed 3 older vehicles on the way to the show tonight. One was a 50 something t-bird, one was an early 60s chrysler new yorker, and the other was a late 50s chevrolet of some sort. All were restored and driving slowly and carefully. You know the type.

I was running 55-60 on the bypass and just went on by! Mine is a driver.

The field that the cruise in was at (A&W) has parking toward the back of the field for the modern cars (people who just want to look).

I think there were more lookers than attendees this time. I didn't count, but I believe there were about 35 cars/trucks there (older ones).

If you polish up your truck nice, just park it with the cruisers. We had a couple of late model vetts and mustangs parked with us last month.

Mine definately is not fast.

1956 F100 Y Block: OHV V8 (Y8) 5 Main Bearings; B&S 3.62 x 3.30; 272 cid; Compression Ratio 8.3:1; 171 HP @ 4400 RPM; 260 ft. lbs. of Torque @ 2100-2400 RPM; 2 Barrel Carb.

3rd is one to one and I have 3.73 rear gears.

The torque number is pretty good though. The peak is down low where a truck should be.

Well...you folks missed a great time tonight.

There were probably 100 cars in and out of there. There were two F1s (one pro street). There was one junky 55 and my 56. Mine was the only Y-block of course. I was asked a thousand questions over the course of the evening.

I had a blast. The truck ran great with no issues at all.

I ran 55-60 most of the way (while I was driving).

EDIT: I did not check the mileage. I forgot to write it down. :(

I left Mom and Dads with about 1/2 tank. We drove to Harrison (52 miles) and the sign said it is 66 from Harrison to Springfield. We ran around in Springfield for a while and then filled it up ($35!!!).

Then we went to the show, then around town some more, then home. Its a little over 100 miles from Springfield to Mom and Dads (coming home that way). I still have 3/4 of a tank. :nana:
