oct 6th springfield steak and shake?

Hello all,

Anyone going to be around Springfield (MO) on October 6th?

I intend to drive the 56 to dialysis in Harrison that day. When I get out of dialysis (3:30 or so), I intend to head straight up to Springfield.

Steak and Shake on Glenstone is having their last cruise in of the year that night.

I am not sure how far it is from Harrison up there (plus the truck is slow). It will probably be half over by the time I get there, but...

It would be cool to meet up with some other fords that night. They used to have plenty of parking (in addition to the cruise in vehicles). It has been a long time since I have been to one.

Are you sure you can pull double duty that way?

If you do, I'll do my best to be there too.

Yes and no. I will drive to dialysis, but my dad will ride along.

He will drive for a while after dialsysis. I can't drive the old truck (POWER STEERING!!!!) with the bandages for an hour or so. I would pop a clot and make a horrible mess.

Once the arm is ok, I will drive the rest of the way.

I would guess from Branson on (don't know how far that is), I will drive.

Whoever is not sleepy will drive home that night.

Hope to see you there.....

I hope you don't miss too much of it Brian! I believe Springfield isn't too awfully far from there and I know Branson isn't too far from Harrison. Have fun and get pics. YelloThumbUp

Branson is about 40 miles from there (I think). Not sure how far it is to Springfield from Branson. Plus the truck is not fast. With it, you enjoy the trips as much as the destination.

Most of it depends on how far they are behind that day at dialysis. Since so many patients from here moved...they are packed. Every shift if full. Every chair is in use...all day long.

I think they have hired two more people already.

Depending where you are in branson, it's 45-60 miles up there. Lotsa hills, too, so better off in the X lol.

My truck is going to the Doctor later next week, too. Nothing serious; Getting a Lev-L-ride hitch installed ;) but if they don't get to it SOON enough, I may have to drive one of the "other" trucks around here :(

As long as it is not raining...the 56 does not know hills exist. Remember....it is not fast to begin with. :wavey:

I had fun going to and from branson in it in July (through Harrison). The hills from Harrison up were a non-issue, but I can't remember the rest of the roads. Been way too many years. We don't go up that way.

Vacuum windshield wipers, don't like small hills even.

They have all of next week to get the hitch on...maybe....

Afraid they DON'T have ALL of next week, lol... I won't be home til friday, and made the appointment for that day. He says he can get to it either that evening or sat AM, so it's close, regardless.
Vacuum wipers... shoot haven't seen those since GOOSE was young :rofl2:

I'm just gonna forget you even posted that, Jr....

Hmmm, I didn't even know there was such a thing.
Really, there was! A young goose! Seen the pic of him standing next to the dinos?

When I met Donna, she had an old Rambler with vacuum wipers. In a hard rain, it wasn't fun going uphill, the wipers would quit.

Was there ever any such thing as a NEW Rambler?

Ok, ok, I know. I can still remember the day my aunt came over to our house and showed us her brand new Rambler American. She kept that car til the seats rotted away... which actually was pretty quick. Rambler had a problem with that in the '65s. It was a little white 4 door, and when she bought her "New" Dodge Dart in the mid-seventies, she didn't trade it in. Instead she held onto that old car as a spare, and gave it to me in 85. I used to get notes on the windshield from folks wanting to buy it, lol...
Back on track: Brian, You are BUYING for all the attendees. Is that correct?

when it rains...life is a "blind" uphill battle. I need to put the rain-X on it. That would help.

....

Umm....yeah....right!?!? What does the smallest soda on the menu cost? [confused] There will be a hundred or more vehicles there if it is anything like it used to be.

I am not getting anything done this weekend. My blood pressure has been really high since Friday morning. Sometime this week, I have to bolt the fender back on and check over all the levels and put some air in the tires. :blah:

Well...I just came in a few minutes ago. Long day at work and then I worked on the truck. The fender is bolted back on at least.

I need smaller hands and daylight.

Daylight would really have helped a lot. :rotz: At least it is not rusty......YelloThumbUp

Still got to do the levels and clean it up a bit. At least get the mud out of it and wash the bugs off the windshield.

There is another cruise in here locally Friday night. Doubt I go..gotta work Friday too. LOL
