Oh damn, that's loud! Time for cut outs in the exhaust smilieFordlogo

No doubt...I suppose that's an option, but the cutouts would be more expensive than just getting the kit. So if anyone has a spare anti-rattler kit or has a secret source, lemme know.

Ben I got my kit off ebay for around $75 I think. Works really well except for one piece, but I think it was just made wrong. The rest of this kit worked great and fit perfect. It was a long while ago so I couldn't tell you what seller I got it from. I took a chance because I didn't want to spend $200 either.

Alright thanks Sean. Any idea where the kit came from, meaning brand or company...or was it chinaman made? I really don't care, but I've noticed if you know the manufacturer...sometimes you can buy it cheaper directly from the source...some times not though.

I will try to figure it out for you Ben. I think it was probably the cheap made in china stuff, but it worked for me for the cost. I will look in junkyard to see if any trucks somehow have a set in good condition when I go back since weather is some much better down here and keeps parts in better shape.

Don't worry about me man. You said you couldn't remember the seller, so I thought you might remember the manufacturer and I could cross reference. But I'm sure I can surf the 'bay and find something. And the only parts that you're required to bring back to me are good grille shells and tailgates. That is all.

Sorry no good shells or gates I planned on stocking up, but they are all messed up. Not even good for a daily driver, imo.

Alright boys...was looking at the door jamb switches in Red and the Bronco, the switch has 3 ports on the back...but only two wires are put in. At first I thought I got the wrong switch for the Bronco...then checked Red's and it was the same way. Any one have a reason why there are three ports for 2 wires? Secondly, does it matter which wire goes into which port or how do you know which wire goes where? Lastly, any suggestions on how to crimp the wire down so I don't crach/bust/mar up the plastic?

Quick question...on the way to work today, noticed the front left side marker lamp was out. Anyone know off the top of their head what kinda bulb this is? Woulda just popped the lens off, but it was/is raining.

The door jamb switch fits numerous applications. There is only one way it will plug into the pigtail from the truck.

Crimp? What do you mean?

194, 2 screws hold it on.

It sounds like to me he is talking about where the switch actually connects and seperates the connection right close to where it screws into the door jam. That is not where you splice or plug into your harness. You need to find the other end up under the dash.

The reason I felt I'd need to crimp it is because the wires pulled out of the back side of the old switch, and it was just 2 wires hanging close. Dunno when, how, or why, they pulled out, but they did. I have no pig tail or plug with the new switch, just 3 open posts. So I assumed the 2 wires would go it and then I'd have to crimp the port.

Thanks...I was thinking 194's...but I wasn't 100% sure.

Yeah...that's what I was talking about, but I need to connect the switch.

Ben it can probably be fixed but Im not sure how. I have a few of these in my parts stuff that you are welcome to if you cant get it back together. The few that I have do not have plugs on the end (the wires were cut) but could be spliced to work. Let me know if you need them.

Alright, thanks man. I figure it should be as easy as hardwiring in the switch, right? If not, I'll shoot you a PM. Even with that though, would that solve my problem? I have the plug behind the dash in the harness, that have the wires going through the cutout into the pillar. So what I currently have are the bare wire ends and a switch...no plugs, no pig tails no nothing. So I thought it would be as simple as stripping the ends of the wires, plugging them in and crimping down. Yay or nay?

Nay.

Were talking about plugging the door jamb switch in to the wiring connector right? Did you look at the old D/J switch to see if the connector end came off when it seperated?

One wire should be power, the other has no power. When the door is opened it makes contact to the dead wire to light up the interior light. It shouldn't matter either way how they are hooked up to the D/J switch.

To be honest after reading your other post about your dome light I dont think the door switches are your only issue. Even without the door switches your dome light should still work by turning the headlight switch all the way to the left so thats why im not sure about your question. Regardless we still need to get your door switches buttoned up anyways. So Id say to get these in order then go from there. I know the bronco dome is different than trucks but they dont have an on off switch on the dome light itself does it?

Thanks again Scott, I'll give it a look tonight some time. If it's not there, am I going junk yarding? Or where can I grab this connector?
