Before I get into this unprepared, I'm assuming the inner/outer wheel bearings on a Dana 60 are pressed on and off, do I assume right?

Sweet that's what I wanted to hear, cuz I'll be doing this Sunday with no presses available. And hopefully be using Red as the DD until the Bronco is done.

You just need the special socket to remove the nuts in the hub as far as I know. I'm assmuing you have it though. And just pack the bearings like you would on a 2WD.

With the correct placement of screwdrivers you can even get by w/o the socket.

Yup like Dustin said you can get that at most part stores. It costs around $20 here to and I see them all the time so you should have no trouble picking one up before you start tomorrow. Like Lee said you might be able to get by with just screwdrivers as long as they are loose enough. Try that first if you want to see if you can save $20, but new tools are always fun to buy.

Brass punch for installing bearing races into hub, no press needed.

I never used to use a socket, always a long handled old straight head and a hammer.

Your not torquing them down and there is a lock ring. There is really no chance in hell of the nut ever loosening up if the lock ring is installed properly, wether you tightened it with a socket or a big screwdriver. As long as you have the proper free play in the bearing that is really all that matters.

If lock ring is in right you can tighten enough with a screwdriver.

Unless the ring or the spindles worn down then in can spin. Id just get the socket cause itll work on any Ford that uses that type of nut (bronco included).

Not sure on this Dan, the D60 spindle nuts are larger than the D44 nuts (along with EVERYTHING else).

Might be true, but I have my doubts.

Thanks for the link and tips fellas. I figure I'll do it with the screwdriver to start with.

Lee is right. There are a few different sockets. I have one that says it is for a certain year Bronco and a few pickups but it did not fit on the last Bronco I tried it with because it had a different axle.

Ben maybe take a few pictures and do a write-up on removing the bearings if one hasn't been done yet on here.
