First off...I'm an idiot...That said, I'm gonna atest for how you just can't kill a 335 series. The Bronk uses a quart of oil about every 150 miles...well I didn't top her off before I drove home 250 miles, or on the way back another 250 miles...plus around town driving. I was just being lazy, and figure aww...it'll make it, and kept forgetting I didn't refill. Anyway, just ran a couple quick errands, noticed that she was getting reeeeeeeeal hot and the oil pressure dropped. Then it hit me what an idiot I am...took 3 quarts to get oil back on the dipstick and another 2 quarts for it to be on the upper side of safe. I say running 5 quarts low really says something about these engines.

First...that's a blast from the past...I used to play with one like that at my gparents house. Second, 1980 huh...man you're old...haha. Lastly, don't worry about being offtopic, this thread was created as a general conversation catch-all for all us dentside lovers...and if tech stuff just so happens to manage it's way in...who cares.

I was actually looking for some ford truck models that I think are around but couldn't find them. I forgot all about the Hess truck until I opened the box.

I love seeing old school toys. I recently just ordered an old school tonka dump truck for my son off Ebay. I wanted an all steel really old one, but one made in 1986 will do fine. I'd like to just get him old school toys, but that would cost me a bunch of cash and he'd just brake em anyway. Don't get me wrong, the stuff made now is pretty cool in all, but not like the old steel toys. Of course steel he could hurt himself on easier. Next thing I want to get him is an old school pedal tractor or car. One thing I'd someday like to see is a retro battery powered Ford Truck for kids.

Now that's what I like to hear. Back in our toy shed...we're loooooooaded up with dad's old steel toys and they're still kickin. Them things have been through years of sand box play and been through yeeeeeears of abuse and weather elements. I hope one day I get to inherit the collection. But you're right...there have been some stitches acquired from use. Oddly enough, I was recently in an antique toy store in Gatlinburg (right next to the BassPro)...and there were toooooons of toys that we have. I was on the gf's cell callin my dad every 30 seconds calling my dad...'can you belive they're selling X toy for Y amount.' It was ridiculous. If those prices were any indication, I'd say dad's collection (if new) would bring in 5-6k real easy.

As for the retro battery Ford...that would be too awesome. I've got some 80's R/C Ford's...but nothing from the 70's. Maybe ask Scott, I know he's got a pretty good collection going of Ford toys...maybe he's seen something.

That looks exactly what I ordered. I paid $25.00 for it and it looked in pretty good shape. Don't know if that's good or not, but figured I can't get them new anymore. I looked at the new ones just a couple days ago and what pieces of crap compared to the metal ones.

Would you sell that one? It looks in awesome shape. I wouldn't mind having a couple of em.

Cool Buck that one is metal with plastic wheels. It is dirty because it was just sitting in my basement. I'll dig out the older stuff tomorrow. $25 sounds like a good deal.

I wouldn't give those things away. I'd keep em as long as you can. Those things would be great to pass down to generation after generation. I wish I would have kept some of my old toys. They wouldn't be what your Dads are like, but some would have been worth something. You ever been on ebay looking at old toys and seen what some things go for? It's crazy. But when I was a kid (still am really), I played with stuff and broke it.
