Ron White kicks ass. Im gonna go with glass packs on the new truck and I think 2 1/2 or 2 1/4 im not sure. Oh yeah I was lookin on cherry bombs website and they still make the 18 incher which is probly what im gonna go with.

Good call man...2.25" pipe is all you will need, I wouldn't go over that. BTW...you know you really want the 8" gpack...haven't been on their site in a while, I was really glad to see they have a TON more inlet/outlet sizes for the 8". When I got mine, they only had the 2.5"...oh well, but then again I was planning ahead for an engine build.

I dont think the neighbors would apreciate them little buggers on there. 18 oughta be loud enough for it.

Yeah they oughta be just about right...not too obnoxious, but get's the point across. I had 16 or 18" before I put the 12" CB's on Red...they still had decent noise at idle, and could set off car alarms at WOT.

I had thought about putting cutouts on so when I do get permanent exhaust on, I could always piss off the neighbors and run open headers down the street. But, I wouldn't want to piss off the police.

First off...got a question, Has anyone here tried this glove box liner from JBG:

http://broncograveyard.com/bronco/i-27151_glove_box__ultimate_plastic_liner.htm

I have a tendancy of tearing the cardboard ones apart when I need to get behind the dash, and I figured for $7 it would be worth it. Just seeing if anyone can vouch for their longevity.

Secondly, jotting down a list for routine maintainence for the rigs when I get home...lemme know if I forgot something:

-Change oil and filter
-Change tranny fluid and screen
-change gear lube and add friction modifier to the rear
-radiator flush and new coolant
-new fuel filter
-Gonna do brakes too, but should I upgrade to these pads- http://broncograveyard.com/bronco/i-22591_severe_duty_front_brake_pads.htm

was also thinking of using these pads if the others are a bunch of fluff-
http://broncograveyard.com/bronco/i-22591A_78-79__front_brake_pads.htm

So has anyone used either of those pads...do you think they'd make any difference?

There's a guy on the other site, 'blue mule' (I believe) who I believe went with cutouts. Pretty sure he went with electric cutouts so he can open them up when he wants to have some fun, and close them off when he doesn't want attention. Only problem I see with that is, possibly shorts when offroad, but if you never go offroad...you don't have to worry about it. I think the electric kit was under $150. I say go for it, but if use it for performance (ie the drag strip)...keep in mind you'd have to retune the carb.

Yeah settin off car alarms is loud enough. As for the list I would re pack the wheel bearings and clean out all the old grease out of the hubs and stuff like that and put some new stuff in em just so ya dont blow em out goin down the road. Check the u joints in the front axle and drivelines.

The design of the glasspack...don't really know how it happens but I think it involves the heating and cooling of the fiberglass inside.

Yep no problem I learned the hard way on the 76 to never trust wheel bearings no matter how good the rest of the truck looks. I had one blow out when I was on the freeway and the only thing that kept that tire on there was them big double piston brakes. I also lost a hub on that one and ended up gettin the warn hubs for it. I will never leave em un checked again. When ya do em make sure ya get all the old stuff out before ya put new grease in em. I need to do the same thing on the new truck cause I like them factory Ford hubs.

he came from an unbusy truck site i look at occasionally
welcome

And here I am thinking this site is "UN-Busy"
Or...gnarly, killer, amazing, etc. Definitely a positive connotation coming from a younger generation's dialogue.

You know...with some talk of websites that are less than busy lately and folks joining here...anyone think it would be possible to initiate a merger or acquisition with other websites?????? Dunno how it would go, but I know a couple websites that are dead but have members that would be useful. Sure you could contact them, but that would take forever and some people are less willing to uproot. If a mod/admin reads this...any opinions?

Ben,
Its' not $7,.. its' twenty7.. Still, its' a good price. I replaced mine with a cardboard one from somewhere I got new a few years ago and the first thing I did when I installed the glovebox light afterwards (I know, should have done that first!) I ripped it. Pissed me off! I am ordering the plastic one to have ready after Burt's paint job.

Off topic: My private posts on the other site are now being monitored. I told some folks about this site when they asked where a number of you guys went and tonite when I went back to see my messages after Dr. Dirt asked me to be a friend in a PM, my sent messages were redacted with the names taken out! So much for "private messages".

Yeah Dak...I know it's $27...I meant it's only $7 more expensive than the cardboard ones...so for the EXTRA $7 it would be worth the longevity is what I meant to say.

As for the PM's...that sucks man, that walls have eyes. Lots of members told me that over there, hence they gave me their private email addresses so the couldn't read everything I said. I still email quite a few of them...trying to get some behind the scenes recruiting in...haha. Don't go an get yourself in trouble now. Wish we could get more of that traffic though, the dentside forum looks like the blind leading the blind.

I have to agree there is no need for the profanity. Even though you are way worse on aim than that. You don't need to use those words online.
