The safe way to share info safely is to credit where it comes from. To call it your own is called plagiarism, it will get you into a lot of trouble in school, college, and work as well. It is fine when you want to share info, but not fine to call it your own. In the case of the internet, you simply provide links to where the info comes from, rather than to copy it and present it as your own.

Chris, you know, I'm glad you brought that up. I agree, he should have that signature at the bottom. It's crappy indeed to take what you gave him and use it somewhere else without your permission.

I missed a lot. LOL I try to link to whatever I find around the net. I linked to bobJ49F2s mirror article when I used his idea. A lot of my pictures (dealing with old trucks) are off of ebay. No clue where those people got them from. LOL

I do not recall "stealing" anything from anywhere. As far as brochures or books go...whoever wrote or printed them originally owns the rights. They are copyrighted by somone.

Chris modified my banner by blending the threee pics (wish I knew how to do that fancy stuff) and I use it on one other forum. My does say ford truck fanatic (does not say .com) . It is sort of a sneaky way to get the name out on the other forum without saying it directly or getting in trouble over there.

even if you post an embedded pic, or a link to a pic, that's fine as long as it's to the original source of the pic.

you just can't have a thread called "my....." and have copied other people's pictures into your own account - that's stealing.

Brian the problem is the copying and pretending.

Some of us have spent hundreds to thousands of dollars to attain this literature to make available to people who really NEED it.
A Mint Brochure in Alberta can net $35.00 or be as low as $1.00

I have thousands $$$$$$$ invested and I'll be damned if some kid copies them and then tells people they belong to him is.


The Kid was trying to be a hero and got caught all over the place.

I was not saying anything against it.

For instance...it is extremely rare and very costly to find one of the original brochures for my truck. I could not afford one even if I could find it. I know that Earl (George) has them scanned and posted online. I would not steal them and say they were mine though.

Yeah...he has been caught all over the place. I am surprised the guy from fordification tried to even communicate with "the other site". They left for the same reasons the rest of us did. Their story is pretty good reading, if you ever have time.

I know the whole story from memory as I was blamed for some of the problems but, was actually against the whole thing that caused up the situation.
