  1. Accessory/ACC does not work.

The accessory mode on my '90 F-150 does not work. What do I fix and how do I fix it?
  2. Nothing new, move along...

Maybe I'll check the codes first. Its not a dual tank truck, so thats out. Its got the 15 gallon tank so I expect frequent refills. But not this frequent, ya know?
  3. Just dropping in.

I'd say most of my friends are of the opinion that Ford means 'fix or repair daily.' :P But most of 'em have jumped ship from their respective brands and joined the Ford family of fine cars in the past year. For which, I give them plenty of crap. ;)Regardless... I love my Fords, and I...
  4. Nothing new, move along...

So my '90 gets bad gas mileage. Yeah I know its not gonna get great MPGs, being an automatic with a 351 and everything. But still. We're talking 9MPG or less with no load. Its even dipped into the low 7s more than once. Its not like I'm running it all poorly maintained or nothing either. The K&N...
  5. Just dropping in.

Well aside from the Fords living up to their bad reputations, things have been good. :P But ya know what? At the moment, all three are running well. And I wouldn't trade that 351 rumble for anything.
  6. Just dropping in.

Its been a busy past month, but an incredibly good one. Life is pretty dang good these days. :) But here's some recent shots of my F-150.Sorry for the quality, cheap camera and bad lighting. On a less cheery note, last weekend two of my three Fords quit on me. Those two being the '89...
  7. Ford Fleet of Fine Trucks?

@Truckin4life, the 600 doesn't have much of a job. Its just been in the family since it was new. It still runs like a top as well.@UTfball68, the Fords certainly do the job well. Since my grandpa's time, Fords have been running the beaches and doing the work.@Fordtruckman80, no interior...
  8. Ford Fleet of Fine Trucks?

This past year I began operating my family's fishing operation. This operation has been in the family for three generations, since my grandfather fishing our sights. This year, I have finally began operating it entirely on my own. What does this have to do with Ford trucks? Well, take a look at...
  9. Whats your mileage on your truck?

    F-150: 122,xxx F-250: 93,xxx F-350: 210,xxx K2500: 137,xxxJust for kicks... 1990 Tempo: 167,xxx 1989 Tempo: 130,xxxAll trucks and Tempos are all original, except the '150 which has a new motor.
  10. "Pick up the Tempo of your life!"

Most dependable car I've ever owned. :) So reliable I bought another with a "shot" transmission and a load of other problems. Turns out, they weren't problems at all, and the trans just wanted a new filter and some fresh fluid. Not the fastest, sleekest, or more efficient. But they're fast...
  11. July 9th photoshoot ('90 150)

My dad works as an ice road bus driver, if you will. Same routes, but he hauls people instead of cargo. When he's not doing that he's hauling oil canisters up from Canada on a wide load goose neck.Alaska is really unlike any other place, for better and worse. As much as I love New England, I...
  12. "Pick up the Tempo of your life!"

That is what the TV advertisements said in 1984, as Ford's then-new Tempo debuted to critical acclaim and sales success (over half a million sold in its first year on sale alone). Here's mine: a 1989 Tempo AWD. I washed and waxed her this past weekend and I took the opportunity to catch some...
  13. July 9th photoshoot ('90 150)

To each his own. ;) My ma loves it here. I do too, but I'd rather move back to my real home in Northwestern Connecticut. But Alaska is really an incredible place to live.Might I ask, why'd and where'd ya move to??
  14. Man, sometimes.

Well, I'll look into that distributor TFI deal tomorrow morning. It cranks every time. But, the longer the drive the longer it takes to start and the slower it turns over after trying to restart it. This problem gets worse the longer it runs, like I said. It gets to the point where it doesn't...
  15. Man, sometimes.

I just wish I could depend on my truck as much as my lowly Ford Tempo. So now, the latest and greatest problem is this: despite brand new battery and battery cables, the truck still has trouble starting up. However it starts fine when cold, but after its ran for any period of time it takes...
  16. well the news is released... New Explorer...

I highly doubt the higher ups at Ford are so dense they would dare touch the Expedition with that. But the Explorer was and is a unique case.
  17. 1953 C600

That's quite the steal. It would be impossible to not have fun with a truck like that. Then again, I'm a sucker for everything built before 1960. But I've got a soft spot for early 50s Ford rigs. I may have grown up with light duty Ford trucks and Dodge Caravan minivans, but we always had this...
  18. Another noob question

Well my truck info is in my sig. 1990 F-150 with the fuel injected 351 Windsor.
  19. noob tire pressure question.

Thanks for the help everyone! I'm gonna definitely try to lower the PSI as much as I can tomorrow evening. However, I can't go too low. I can air up at home, but my home is about 10 miles from my beach sight and there are no compressors in between that I could use.So one last question. Whats...
  20. Lookin' at a 1979 F-250!!

    I knew I had a Windsor. I dunno, I was tired. Meant W, honest. :P
  21. Another noob question

Doing some exhaust work on my truck. Pipe broke just before the muffler. But as I work on that, I noticed a little rubber hose that runs to the catalytic converter. What is this, and is it important to replace/repair?
  22. noob tire pressure question.

I use my F-150 as a jack-of-all-trades vehicle. It alternates between being a Jeep, an F-350, and a daily driver Civic from day to day every week. But two days a week I use it on the beach up here to haul my boat out of the water. Launching on the sand sucks, and the F-150 really sucks at it...
  23. Lookin' at a 1979 F-250!!

My 351M gets between 8 and 12 depending on how hard I push it. Its newer and fuel injected, so you're probably look at 10 or less on average.
  24. go or no go, what do you guys think?

Yeah, but I can't imagine the gas mileage is all that great. I may be alone here, but I can barely afford my 351. Dunno what I'd do without my trusty Ford Tempo.
  25. go or no go, what do you guys think?

Go for it. That's one solid looking truck. If I were gonna buy it, I'd throw in a new motor. But I'm not one for propane, or 460 cubic inches.
  26. July 9th photoshoot ('90 150)

@countryboytn, my driveway is 1.8 miles of dirt. I had to help tow a sailboat over the rough patches (friend's Chevy couldn't handle it by itself), so I kinda had to roll on dirt.@Fordtruckman80, I don't have stock manifolds on my truck. But the last owner did a botch job of installing it...
  27. July 9th photoshoot ('90 150)

Washed and waxed my F-150 today. Weather was fantastic for about half the day, and then it began to rain.Let me know whatcha think. I had to remove the aluminum panel on the tailgate recently, and I'm currently looking for a replacement. I'm also needing a **** tone of work done...
  28. Trim Items, where to get 'em?

Well I'm gonna try to remove it. The bed gate itself (I think) is fine. I'm just worried it'll look like **** underneath. Which it prolly does. So I'd like to replace it.I'm already paying $80 for a new, factory grill. I've heard you can pick those things up for as little as $25 from...
  29. Trim Items, where to get 'em?

I'm in need of a new piece of tailgate trim for my '90 F-150. You know that signature faux-aluminum panel fitted to 8th/9th generation F-Series trucks? Well, mine needs replacing. Here it is before a forklift cracked it:Its got a stupid LED-light bar on it in lieu of the black stripe with...
  30. Post a pic of your 87-96 and 97 F250's and up

Nice, a manual. Can't tell ya how much I wish I had something besides that damn E40D auto.
