    Blew the transmission

Trans went on me so I have a few options buy a used tranny for 1700 install myself, have mine rebuilt at a shop which will cost 3500, or I have a line on a wrecked 05 king ranch with a new trans and fairly new motor 5.4. I'm just waiting on the seller to find out if its the 4R75E in the king...

    4x4 actuator motor

My 4x4 isn't engaging. I'm guessing it's the actuator motor. Any suggestions on trouble shooting tips to try before I pull it. Thanks

    CV or universal

I have squeak from the front when I engage 4x4. It will make it when I turn left. Thats what leads me to believe it may be the CV. I've never had a CV fail on me before so I don't know what happens when they start to.

    Canada has just been severed.

The downfall to only having one highway. A brand new $106 000 bride crossing the nipigon just heaved two feet after on day of cold weather. http://www.tbnewswatch.com/News/379810/Newly_constructed_Nipigon_Bridge_splits_in_cold_ This has literally cut Canada in half.

    October 19th

Any predictions? We are a NDP riding. I think it may be close with the libs here. Its kinda looking like Harper may have another term. Majority? They say its going to come down to what Quebec does. I never understood how a province that doesn't want to be a part of the country has so much voting...

    4 pin trailer plug in

To change the 4 pin trailer plug on my truck do I have to cut the wires to replace the 4 pin. Or is the 4 pin a unit that unplugs from the main wiring to avoid having to cut them out to replace? I would like to replace it with a factory 4 pin so it doesn't hang down and fits back into the...

    New hybrid tires

Brought the truck in for a set of motormaster total terrain at2. Truck went up on the hoist, wheels came off, tires came off. Then they realized the tires I ordered weren't in stock. Even though the computer said they were. This is the second time this has happend to me at Canadian Tire. So they...

    huh

Whats going on over there in Alberta Duncan? NDP in a Conservative strong hold!? Sound like Rachel is a stong favorite. Ontario has always been Liberal, and we went Conservative. Quebec went from Liberal to NDP. Might be a interesting election on October 19th.

    5.0 vs ecoboost.....

Personal opinion, nothing more. My truck has gone to the shop twice in the last month. The first time in I got a 2014 xlt 5.0 rental. Today I got a 2014 xlt ecoboost. I'm going to compare my first impressions of the motors. I felt that the 5.0 has more zip off the line, between lights. The...

    Yard Bronco

This is the newest addition to my dads fleet of yard trucks with plow. He has two 75-79 F-150's with plows, and he recently picked up this Bronco. He says he is to old to work on the trucks if they break down during winter. So instead of fixing them in sub zero weather. He will jump into the...

    In the shop.

My extended warranty is up soon so I brought my truck in for a safety inspection. It needs new tie rod ends, a rear pinion seal, and I have a oil leak somewhere. The shop added some die to my oil to track where the leak is coming from. It feels a lot more tight now that it has new tie rod ends...

    Towing with 5.4

I just have to say I love it. I pulled my 27' trailer into town today to get it ready for the camping season. The trailer weighs in just under 8000 pounds. Engine didn't seam to have to work to hard to get it going and on hills.

    Every time.

I had plans this summer to build a kinda rat rod redneck 78 2wd reg cab with a flat deck. I have most the parts to do it. A 75 frame with a 390(so I've been told) 4 speed. A decent cab, tons of doors to choose from, fenders, yada yada yada, all the big stuff lets say to put something together. I...

    Maybe trading up.

As a promotion, Ford Canada has offered a $2000 credit towards a new/used truck plus trade in. Plus trying to keep your payments relatively the same. So as I understandish. Curiosity got the better of me, so I went down to the local dealer to see what it is about. They didn't have any used...

    Fuel pump module

Not to bad. I got 150 kilometers before my module went. I was told when I bought the truck to have a spare in the glove box. Wish I would have listened.

    A back yard build.

It may be this endless winter. When I'm not day dreaming about being knee deep in fast water trying to trick a brook trout into whatever concoction i may have tied. I'm day dreaming about what kind of 79 back yard concoction I can build with the endless parts in my dads back yard. I have a hand...

    Saying good-bye

It's been 3 years and a great relationship, but it's time to say good-bye. The time has come to sell the 78. I don't have the money or time to fix her the way she needs. I wasn't really planning on selling my truck, but it was always a possibility. I had a boat motor for sale and one of the guys...

    newbie question

I've worked on 302, 351/400 and that's it. I have no knowledge of the 360/390. Only that I have a 360/390 in a parts truck. I've been told a few different things by a few different people. So I thought I would as where I would get the right answer hands down. I had a mishap with my 351 and now...

    Grrr mother nature

    Intake/carb help

I noticed before I parked my truck I had exhaust coming up from under the hood. My donut on the exhaust manifold need to be changed so I figured it was that. After looking at my carb while it was running I could see exhaust coming up from under the choke. I pulled the carb off and when doing so...

    Ice build up

I'm getting ice build up on my running boards under the passenger side back door. To the point that I can't open the door and have to chip it away. I'm afraid of causing damage when trying to remove the ice. I was wondering if a set of front mud flaps would take care of this problem and how they...

    Nice short box

While at the local dealer today getting my oil changed, they had this truck in the show room. Short box 5.0 leveling kit, bigger tires and bed cover. It stickered out at around $34 000 with all the dealer options. I really like the look of the short box. And that is a Boss behind. They have...

    Future rust area?

I was suprised to see all the road grime that builds up on the bottom inside of the doors on my truck. I haven't seen a gen 11 with any rust issues, but this looks like a likely place. This is what my truck looks like after two weeks of driving. Now that the snow is melting its going to be like...

    Loven the truck

As the newest truck I've ever owned, and going from the 78 F250. I love driving this truck. (when then the wife who also loves driving this truck doesn't have it). it is taking some time to get used to the throttle response going around corners and when going from a red light to green, but i'm...
