Hey guys, haven't been on here since 2016, crazy how fast time flies.I unfortunately sold my 1980 F150, and I kick myself every day for it. Here's the last picture I took before I sent her away. :hammer:Buuuuttttttttt two years later I started to really miss having a project, so I bought...
So ever since I bought my Ranger, I've known that the leaf springs and torsion bars were sagging. I didn't really have any desire to fix it, until a few weeks ago.So far I've installed an Add A Leaf kit, installed #1 (The strongest) Torsion Bars, and cranked the Torsion bars. I'm currently in...
The chance has come for me to pick up a 351M off of Craigslist for $250. From what I can tell, it's a stock motor with no rebuilds, and from the brackets on it, I can tell that it came out of a 1980-1981 F-Series truck or Bronco, which means it's all correct for my 1980 F150.To sweeten the...
I've mentioned my dad's 1979 F350 here a couple of times, but I've never had pictures....until now. These are the only two he took of it, and I'm very lucky he even took these. If I had to guess, they're from the late 80's. He brought this truck from Indiana down to Florida, and shortly before I...
Hey guys, I have a request for anybody that runs the junkyards.I'm looking for a shift knob for my F150. Problem is, the specific shift knob was only used in 1980-1981. For you Dentside guys, the one I need is identical to the NP205 shift knob, however instead of 4L,N,2H,4H, the shift pattern...
Well, a cast chunk of aluminum followed me home the other day. :)It's a C6 4x4 Automatic, with a 1345 T-case adapter. It has the big block bell housing meant for the 351M/400 and 460. I picked it up for $125, however, I've already sold about $50 worth of surplus parts I had laying around, so...
Somebody stole the front axle out from under my truck! In all seriousness, the whole axle is receiving brand new paint. Everything from the beams, to the radius arms, to the shock mounts, to the coil buckets, and to the old coil springs that I won't even use down the road.I'm also...
About 10 out of 16 valve guides on my 400 are worn, and I'm looking to replace all 16. However when I look up valve guides on Summit and Jeg's, they only seem to list what looks to be the inserts. I also want to replace the cone shaped spring seat as well because two of them were busted up by a...
Far cry from what it used to look like.I still don't know what I'm gonna do with it, but for now, it will be painted up, gaskets put on, and then dropped into the engine bay so I can move the truck and engine at one time when I move to my own place.
It's been awhile since I've posted anything here. :)So........For those of you who are new here, I have a 1980 F150 Ranger Lariat 4x4. But that's not what the truck always was. It was built December 20, 1979 as an F100 Custom trim 4x2 with a 300 I6. Now, the only original parts left on the...
It's been awhile since I've updated anything on my F150 here at FTF, so here we go. This is just a small taste, I'm sure there is much more than what I have here. This pic is from the summer if I recall correctly. If you notice, there are now front manual lockouts sticking out from the...
I haven't seen anything on here about this guy, so I figured I'd make a thread so y'all can be in the loop and watch out for suspicious ads on the forums you may be a member on. Not sure where this should go, so if mods could move it to the appropriate forum, it would be greatly appreciated...
Well guys, it has come time for me to part ways with the 4.9 300 I6. After removing the thermostat housing and finding junk and corrosion all throughout the head, I've decided to part it out and then scrap whatever doesn't sell. So I figured I'd make a little thread in here showing the stages of...
Well, not really. The carpet in both pictures is the same. I just cleaned and cleaned and cleaned it, and then I used a special mixture of awesome substances to dye the carpet black. I'm still not completely happy, so I will be dunking it again some time this week. I also need to find a tough...
Recently for the last few weeks i've had a big problem with my 03 Ranger. Whenever I start the truck up in the morning, it runs great. But as I drive, about 15-20 minutes into driving the truck will develop a jumpy idle at stops. It'll fluctuate between 500 and 1,000, and occasionally it dips...
Got some more free time last week and took some new pics of the truck. I think these turned out pretty good.County Rangers. More white Rangers then you'll see at one time anywhere else.
Today I felt the urge to get out and take a few photos of the Ranger. I've been meaning to do it ever since I got the truck, but I just now got a chance to. So here's the results.

I was just reading an article about how Ford is gonna haul logs with the Ecoboost, then take it to Homestead, Florida and pull two Fusions around for 24 hours, and then take the motor and stick it in a Baja truck and run it in the Baja 1000.Why in the world is Ford trying so hard to prove the...
Okay guys, I'm behind on the newer motors, especially when it comes to the 2V etc designations of an engine. I'm pretty sure 2V means two valves, referring to the exhaust and intake valves. But what about 3V and 4V? If those are extra valves, what are they for?
This forum never gets much attention except from Ian and I, so I figure i'll whore out the Ranger in here.Ditched the tonneau cover. I think it looks alot better without it. I do want to get the factory plastic bed rails for it though, as well as swap out the chrome step bars for the factory...
I'm getting tired of hearing that the Ranger will be back in 2012, and also that it won't be back. So does anybody know which it is?Personally, if Ford ditches the Ranger, that's it, i'm wiping my hands of Ford. I'll keep my girls, but I will drop my support from 30% to 0%. I do not need a...
