Analog(ue) definitely have a more OEM look to them.

Let me know when your gonna start it . I want to come by and watch.

That will be a looong drive jut to hear it run. I'll save ya the trip and roll a video.

Did you paint the engine, Scott? Looks nice.

Yes, I used 3" roloc disc to clean all the crap/rust scale off the block and then sprayed it with brake clean to get off any residue. The valve covers and oil pan I stripped to bare metal then primed and painted. Most of the brackets got a coat of bedliner after a soak in the electrolysis bucket.

Pretty much the top end is done. I need to set the firing order on it now. I primed the oiling system, installed the valve covers, set the dizzy in, mounted the A/C compressor, installed the spark plugs, got both headers on and tightened. Next up is to install the A/C box again, get the power booster mounted, figure out whether to paint or use bedliner on the M/C, get the steering shaft mounted and then reinstall the front clip. I want that all done before I even attempt to start it.

So much nicer looking than the nut I welded on.

Yep 134, did that conversion on my Bronco and it was a piece of cake. Of course having a good friend in HVAC helps.smilieFordlogo

So curiosity got to me so I added up all my parts receipts spent on the truck so far, the cost of the truck and shipping of the truck...Grand total, 5495.05

Dupli Color DE1621, they call it old Ford blue.

Double? I don't think doubling my money is what I'm going to be after once it is complete. smilietease

Final cost??? Good question. I guess it depends if I paint it, wetsand and do the buffing or have a shop do it. I know I don't want any flaws in the paint so it is probably going to go to the guys that did my Bronco over this coming winter. I'd guesstimate that paint cost will be around 5K at a shop or I could do it myself for roughly 1500.

Wheels, tires and a lift, probably another 2500.

There isn't really any other big expenses after those 2 are complete. New seat upholstery, going to try the LMC kit on the OE seat, new woodgrain interior pieces, maybe another 500.

I'd bet I can get this up and done for somewhere around 15K. It would be ideal to keep it under that mark.

Why should you have waited? You going to get in on the bidding war?:suspicious:

Morning wood. Some wiring, anti-freeze and some vacuum hoses and it is ready to go.

Well it has been nice having a few days off. Hotter than hell but I pushed through. Done for the day, time to go watch some high school football.

I also decided to bedliner the upper cowl. This will make it easier for me to finish with the engine compartment reassembly. I made the cut line where the rubber hood strip seal goes.

Thanks Duncan I know you read my push rod thread but here is a little update since I'm waiting on a new set from Summit. Couldn't work on the motor so I put the front end back together to make final cab and core support adjustments. I also installed the dash.

I thought I was all done with the motor. Finished it all up and finally got it running. After starting the motor it wasn't running right, had a pop to it. After checking it out the pushrods are to short. In the meantime I assembled the dash, put the front clip on to adjust the cab and core support.

Once the pushrods are here and it is up and running properly I am concentrating on getting it painted.

And bright! They adjust all the way down though with the dimmer switch.

Nice...did you change that heater control/radio bracket or was it unmolested?

It was just net, I was able to end it back to normal. The only thing he broke were the lower mount tabs for the heater control. I had a spare one of those I used.

The new Dakota Digital analog cluster looks REALLY nice. Did you add any options to the cluster like outside temp, etc.?
