I drove to work... again. All this work is leaving little time to do stuff to the truck! 10 hour day tomorrow!

Put new hinges on the driver's door today. The bottom hinge pin hole on the old hinges was completely rounded out and the insert was gone. Found an almost new set of OEM hinges on a donor truck at the auto graveyard. The door was already gone, so it took 5 minutes to remove the hinges. $20 for a pair of hinges. This is the only scrapyard in my area that still keeps a row of 73-79 trucks for parts. Had to remove some surface rust and primer them and paint black to match the truck. The door shuts like it is new now.

Added some fluid to the PS pump on Red...surprisingly, the control valve isn't leaking nearly as bad as it has in the passed. Must be the calm before the storm. Then I'll just go manual steering until have $4-500 bones to lay out.

Id just swap it over to manual steerin or go with a 78-79 type set up.

I'll go manual if it does chit out on me, but only until I have the funds for a new valve. But you know me, I prefer originality, so the valve is more than likely the way I'd go. I've considered going with a 78/9 setup, but I figure the control valve set up gets a bad rap just like the 400 does. Figure most guys jump ship with the valve and banish it to exile, but that's unfair. It's a 30+ year old part that held up as long as it did, fresh parts make for a new system and is right on track pricewise when compared to a 78/9 swap...but the valve is a direct bolt in...it takes all of an hour to swap one out, put a new one in and purge the system.
