What engine do you have in your F-150?

What's the engine you currently have in your F-150?

While you're at it, what engine would you rather have, and what upgrades and bolt-on additions are you looking to do in the future?

I'll start.

In my 1994, I have the 351W. I'm terribly satisfied with it in terms of reliability and power. I plan on this summer probably bolting on some less restrictive headers instead of the highly restrictive exhaust manifolds that are on there.

To start off with:

Right now....
5.4 ltr Modular V8 (on 7 cyl)
Throttle Body spacer
Custom intake
Custom Exhaust

By the end of the year....
Custom built 5.4 ltr Modular V8 (estimated horses to the ground...750!YelloThumbUp ) THANK YOU TROYER PERFORMANCE!
Ported and Polished heads
Custom ground Cams
Custom polished Crank
8.4:1 Compression
Custom Moly Pistons
Custom Supercharger (18-20 psi.)
Twin Electric Fan Kit
Custom Exhaust with headers
Built Transmission rated at 1200 horse!
Custom Hardened Input Shaft
Trans-Go Shift kit with 2300 Flash stall
Custom PI triple disk tourque converter
Auxillary Trans Cooler

That ought to do me for a while!

Got the Big 6 under the hood at the moment, the short-bed and no 4x4 are kind of turnoffs when it comes to bringing further upgrades to the truck. I honestly don't know how much longer I'll own my F-150, I'm thinking about getting a semi-sporty V8 like a Mustang sometime this spring/summer. As for what I'd rather have...two words...Ford Lightning :cooldude:

Mines got a 300 inline 6 in it (is there anything else?). Very happy with the low end. I've got that 4speed overdrive trans that spoils everything though.

2004 F-150 with the 4.6 V8.
No real mods and it's not too bad of a motor.
No plans of yet but if I find something it will go on.

If I had got a new one instead of used I would have gone with the 5.4

300 I6. the old girl is tougher than wood pecker lips. it's got the e4od but still. i pulled an assembled 16'x10' porch w/ roof, 100' and attatched it to my house with the truck. never grunted. the whole neighborhood was cracking up. i didn't have my cam-corder at the time but just picture the wife standing in the road just shaking her head thinking "i married this idiot" !!

 Nice Lenny1carl

Yeah, I haven't found anything I couldn't pull with my truck so far, the I6 is a good motor.

My head stable hand has the I-6 in his truck and has pulled 12 head of horses in a gooseneck trailer that I have no idea of it's weight, but it was HUGE!

My 94 has a 393w in it with a c-6 auto. Its just a tad over 9:1 c/r. Mild lunati cam, kinda like an rv grind. Holley 650 4bl and headman headers. I used one of those hei conversion distributors just to try something different. No changes planned in the future. Everything worked out exactly how I wanted. It has nice bottem end grunt, almost like a big block and has been reliable.

It was a stroker kit for a 351w. If I remember correctly, the stroke is 3.85 instead of 3.50. Bore is .030. Local machine shop did the work. I don't have to worry about emmisions testing here, so a carb was easier for me to do with that combo. The computer is still there, but it just drools most of the time I imagine. lol

My '93 has the 302 in it, only thing done to it is K&N which was there when I bought it and I built/installed a custom true dual system with a pair of 12" x 3.5" x 2.5" straight through glasspacks. Not the best engine but I've pulled/hauled everything I've needed to with it including 44 bags of 80lb concrete.

If I had a choice I'd have not purchaced the truck and picked up a 3/4 or 1 ton with either the 300 the 6.9/7.3 or the 7.5
