Trouble shooting 4WD from the warmth of my living room.

That Record one I had was supposedly good given what I paid for it....broke the edge of the jaw mount....

I stripped the screw that moves the jaw in and out. I was working at the outer edge of it's width capability.

Doug, you might try a grease gun needle attachment to get to that fitting. (If the new uj has a fitting.

You should watch for an old vice at estate or garage sales. I got a good one, for next to nothing.

Mark, I tried a needle attachment, and couldn't get the right angle to get into the zerk. This time I will grease the U joint before I put it in the truck.

I will look for an older vice of better quality. Thank you.

Doug....just a thought...but would an angled Zerk work?...I ask as one on my ATV has an angled one as a straight one would lead to the same issue you are having.

^ THere might be a clearance issue on that but might be worth a try.

I'm seeing 45*, 65*, and 90*. Local auto parts shop only carries straight zerks.

Pretty sure my ATV one is 22.5...dunno if that helps or not.
