Yea it was 116 in our shop today. I learned to drive stick on my 88 Stang, and the clutch was like super stiff and it eventually broke the clutch fork. 5.4's take 7? Wierd all the ones we do at work take like 6-6.5. Maybe the newer ones do. Bet you cant wait to do an oil change on a powerstroke, 15 qts. Most of Fords V6's take 5, the 4's usually take 4, and the V8's are mostly the same. In a dealer you wont see anything our year, just new stuff. Which is nice caus you dont have to deal with rust, crust, and the super oily leaking crap. I had a van I did some work on 444K on it, 03 E250 to be exact.

^^Reminds me...

I drove Dad's '00 Focus to Colorado back in '05, and broke down in Denver. Took it to a dealership, they fixed it. The tech was very nice and came to the waiting area several times to keep me updated on the diagnostic process and the repair. He also took me into the shop to show me how rusted the underside of that car was, and compare it to a similar aged Colorado car on the lift next to it. It was about enough to make me move out west...

If you want to "adjust" your blood pressure, while helping others, ask your service manager if you can train for diesels!

smilieIagree smiliewhathesaid Your helping to do someone elses gravey work, who's geting paid for the job you or the person your helping? Diesel work is the way to go!!

yup...If I had the funds I'd finish my cert class.....big money and always a job.....aslong as there's workhorses (IE diesel pickups trans busses and semis) you will ALWAYS have a job.....and a number of things on them are simpler for less downtime....not to mention.....basically same engines just bigger parts....can be akward to handle at times but fairly easy.
