Hi all. I have a 302 with TBI and another with MPF. What would I have to do to put the MFI on the TBI one? Can I simply swap the intake or does it go deeper? Thanks.
Yes, you'll need to swap out the computer, engine wiring harness, fuel rails, etc.
The manifold injection is bank fired, and the system works totally differently than the throttle body injection. It's kind of a tricky swap that might not be worth the trouble, IMO.
Well, I have an 89 Crown vic with a tired motor but, I have a motor from and older Grand Marquis. Was hoping to just swap intakes and put everything on the tbi motor. I mistakenly said MPFI. The newer one says 5.0 EFI. Sorry for that.
If I'm not mistaken, the casting numbers are above the starter. You need the first two digits. The first letter indicates the decade of manufacture. A "C" is the 1960s, "D" the 1970s, "E" the 1980s and "F" the 1990s. The second number indicates which year in that decade. ie: C5, would be 1965.
