Pics of the chip & packaging... The chip has some scotch tape stuck to it from when he had it taped to the ECU.
SCOTCH TAPE!! How dare you cuss like that here!! Need me to send the correct product for that?? What color do you like???? I'm sure I can make up some pink in honor of Trista. :)

Chip is in!! Just did a test drive with Trista's dad...

Our faces --> :shocked:

Chip works great! Best $50 I ever spent :) We'll have to wait and see what my gas mileage looks like, but I'm guessing it'll be crappy for the first month cuz I'll have my foot in it too much :rofl:

I was actually surprised to see that at Safeway, 87 was around $4.25 before the $.03 discount for having a Safeway card. So I believe I ended up paying about $4.42 for 91. I ain't complainin' :)

?? for ya Chris.. 91 is the highest octane you can get there? , we have 87 , 89 and 93 , some BP's here have CAM2 110 octane fuel , at a measly 5.99 a gallon.
Is that a Cali thing?

I don't recall seeing anything higher than 91 around here, not sure about other parts of CA. I have seen racing fuel in a few places though... I seem to remember it being around $7 a gallon.

Lol, well I know that! But I'm trying to figure out why these clowns are more fascinated with fuel octane than with my new AWESOME chip!! :rofl:

Lol, how would I find one for an '89 4x4 with a 300 and an M5OD?

Check that reference chart that I posted earlier:

Looks like 88-96 4.9L F150s take the same chip as mine, the 1100, or sometimes called the "blue chip". Chances of finding it for $50 like me? Probably slim to none... The chip itself retails for $200-250 and then you have to get it programmed for YOUR truck for around $50 more. See if you can't find a Superchips dealer in the area and talk to them. You can also try ebay to find the chip itself, then have it programmed locally.

EDIT: Found some... They ain't exactly cheap...

Ooo, ouch. Does the guy that you know have anymore or know where to get one? (considering we live in the same area?)

He might have some connections, he either owns or works for a big differentials outfit in Rancho Cordova-- West Coast Differentials. Far as I know, it's one of the biggest in CA. I'll send him an email and see if he's got any connections.

Lol, I only drove it around the block once and out on the main drag for a short stint. I nailed the throttle (not even all the way) and I chirped the tires all the way around the turn. Trista's dad was incredibly impressed that my big truck with big tires can move it's own weight around so well-- I was too :)

I can't give you any scientific data besides, its faster. More get-up-and-go, bottom line.
