Stock Ford Rims that match up?

What all styles of stock Ford rims will bolt right up to a 1979 Ford F150 4x2?

Looking to get something different on the truck, but dont exactly have the cash to pay for aftermarket.

Though maybe one of the yards around my place would have a set of Ford rims.

I should really look into all the odds and ends of this truck.

Right now i dont know anything but how to put it in "Drive" and go. :headbang:

I woud say the best looking stock wheels to put on there would be the chrome wheels the 92-96 F150 pickups had. I will try to find a pick..idk the name of them.

thats it... only one with the same bolt pattern... these are the rims that i think would look good on there.... just with some good and nice shine on it and good tires..

Okay cool

Thanks for the info.

Is it just the F150 rims, or will rims off of another Ford vehicle work?

Any F150/E150 up to 97. It all depends what you are looking for in a rim and look. I have some rally wheels off of an 88 on a 78 that look pretty nice with the trim rings and center caps as well.

I've got some wide rims I'm looking to get rid of, but not sure if Cliff still wants them first. Real wide in back and skinny in front like drag tires.

yep, thats a good close up of the wheels I think look best, pic #2. I think they look great on a gen 6 with white letter tires, like yours above. I never really liked the outlaw type.

1st swap to spoked wheels circa:1986
They rusted out so badly and were very hard to keep clean

2rd swap done in 1987 and presently on the truck

I have replaced the center caps twice, they are now stainless steel

coming up ...1979 wheel options

I will go see what wheels are on a 78 or 79 that is for sale locally tomorrow if I have time. I've been wanting to look at the truck for quite some time now. But it is at a local car dealer who is a bit shady.

Can't beat a good ol wagon wheel!

Still haven't figured out how to do the quoting on here lol.

But the rims that are on my truck currently are the ones in the Pic #2. The ones in Pic #1 are sweet.

The 5 slot Forged aluminum wheels in the picture above are also VERY cool.

those slots are cool, wonder how hard those are to find?

Just slots is what they generally called, but it may be a bit of a trick to find them any more.
