Cliff, also... one last piece of advice.

Wet sand with your last grit of sandpaper. It'll soften the ability to be an abrasive and almost act like 4,000 grit sandpaper instead of 2,000 grit.

You mean to sand until it comes clear?

When you're done with your finest piece of sandpaper, get a cup of water and wet the paper of the finest grit you have. The small amount of water (while sanding) does wonders as far as clearing up the abrasion marks from previous sanding.

Well it done. I went to my local paint supply house to get some 3000 grit pad. The Roger who always waits on me wanted to know what I was doing I explained to him about my dash cluster lens. He recommended this headlight restoration system to me and I tell you it works great. I also used meguires headkight polish afterwards.

Thanks Roy. It looks good but there are a few imperfections. I will mod my other lens and store it.

Here is the circuit board from the tach cluster, you can see where all the contacts are clean and there are no breaks that I could see. I used ketchup and qtips and you can see the 2 in the picture came out clean I got them looking that way.
