Spark Plugs keep coming loose...

i cant keep them tight in the head... its driving me freaking crazy... i use anti-seize every time, and it just doesnt stay tight in the head....

why?

Have you cleaned the threads in the heads?

yep.. i do everytime i change the plugs...

no.. they are regular cast iron E7 heads...

Are the threads on the plug and in the head still okay? How easy do the plugs go in the heads?

Are you running original heads?

the threads are fine... the plugs go in just like they should, just tight enough, but loose enough ya aint forcing em...

and on that engine yes they are the original heads...

Are you absolutely sure it isn't a 5.4?

At one point in time, the plugs may have been removed when the engine was hot. That can be destructive to the threads in the heads. You might try another brand of plug (different manufacturing procedures). Champions are notorious for seizing in the engine (might be cheaper than replacing heads or helicoiling them).

oh well. im popping on some GT40s on to a new engine soon anyways...

I agree about a different brand of plug, the taper in the plug construction may not be enough.

Sounds like ya aint gettin em tight enough. Id quit usin the anti sieze on em and crank em down good but dont kill em. Ive had some very tight spark plugs before and havent stripped one yet. Also helps to go back and re tighten em after a heat cycle or two.
