Spark Plugs keep coming loose...

plugs

if the threads ever get stretched you have to weld up hole redrill and tap that is if someone put the plugs in so tight like it never had to be changed try not putting on washer and see if helps? sounds to me like it is screwed

That is really strange, id say you might not be making them tight enough. You can put some lock-tight on em, you will be fine gettin em out again. How often do you change your plugs? Platumns are like 100K plugs. I wouldnt waste time with coppers even tho im opening up a can of worms with this comment.

Sadly I have ran the same plugs in my 88 bronk for the past 2 years ive had it. Im a mechanic and we dont use coppers anymore. They just dont last long enough. I got platimuns in all my 302/351's, even the 347 stroker in the stang. All run like champs. Here is a funny story. Did plugs in a 03 E150 with a 4.6L 220K on the orig plat plugs. Finally started missing with that mileage. Im sold lol.

Thats wierd. Id Give them plugs a good crank till you get the other motor done.

Sounds like ya aint gettin em tight enough. Id quit usin the anti sieze on em and crank em down good but dont kill em. Ive had some very tight spark plugs before and havent stripped one yet. Also helps to go back and re tighten em after a heat cycle or two.

This is exactly my thought as well. And if you're changing your spark plugs every 10k...what's the point in anti-seize?

Be fast.....or be last.
Chase the threads with a tap.Tighten the plugs to 15 lb.ft.Anti seize is always good insurance when clamping two disimilar metals together(iron bolts in an aluminum intake)to cut down corrosion, and always used where heat(spark plugs, header bolts, etc.)is a consideration. Also look for any distortion in the plug hole seat.

I use antiseize on every bolt i take out and put back in. Ever take plugs outta an iron head in the salt belt? Took me 2 weeks to get all 8 plugs outta my F350 when I 1st got em, the plugs had rusted to the heads, was unreal.
