Site locking up?????????

Most tech questions seem to get answered....having a nice chatty atmosphere is nice...do all your personal conversations pertain to technical matters?...just sayin' that's all...I for one agree with Ben.

Try interpreting what I typed ... a different way.

I know you can do it.

ask yourself why other people that show up here hang around for a couple of weeks ..then leave.

I still think the few of you that are regularly having problems need to look at your own systems or your local IP.

I was on here at 10 pm and talking to Aaron by PM with the last msg at 10:19 mountain time and the site was working smooth and fast. I have yet to see a downgrade in service regardless of when I'm on.

I agree, I haven't had one iota of problems with speed or locking up.

For those of you using IE.. that is half your problem right there.

I use Opera and Firefox.

Do you do maintenance on your Online Files/cookies etc ?

I agree with that...and that's why I liked the NRCC, it gave you something to do during the down time between tech sessions. Do I wish there was more tech...hell yeah...but at times, there isn't that much.

I have the same problems with FF. Yes, I do online maintenance. I just thought it was odd that one day I all of a sudden started having problems, with no issues prior. I also find it odd, that like clock work it happens in the same time frame. Another oddity is that the NRCC caught the brunt of the load for the problems, and the same folks are still having the same problems even after closing it.

You're right Dennis...but for me, it's more the fact of the abrupt closing of the thread. And the fact that closing the thread didn't change anything. So what's the big deal in bringing it back and letting it be self regulated when it comes to size, so the mods don't have to meddle. But as said before, not my site, and it's free to me, so I have no right to complain...just figured the consideration of the users' preferences would come into play. But for now, I'm done fighting it, and we'll see where it goes.

That's what I can't figure out - I run IE 95% of the time and Firefox the remainder.... and no problems with either.

I changed some of the times for the maintenance tasks that run during the time you guys are having problems. Let me know if that helps any.

now 35 minutes into it, and she is running waaaaaaay better...but still a little finicky. Sometimes runs perfectly, other times slow loads, but a refresh usually does the trick.

x2.......I've started having more and more issues with it too.

It's almost like I'm getting 10 minutes of flawless operation, then 2-3 minutes of slow loading/posting, then back to flawless running and so on. So on my end, it's waaaaaaaaaay better than before...at least I'm not getting the error message and having to x-out and log back in.



Edit...besides that half hour of hit or miss, been running great.
