Another side note...of the threads you posted advocating a chat feature, how active are those members, and how active have they been in the chat feature thus far? Wouldn't it be better to cater to the folks who are/would actually use it, be it in the form of a thread or chat? But obviously, it looks like the chat is still getting some use.

That said...at 12am est, the site started slowing waaaaaaaaaaay down.

I will pass those times along to Scott and he can check the site maintenance schedule as well as the server maintenance schedule to see if they are running at these times.

Now that you posted...is it showing up? It does that alot for me...and other guys have said the same thing happens to them. He just posted in my 400 thread too. I got the notification, I see that he posted in my CP and in New Posts...but in the thread it doesn't show his post, and won't until someone else posts something.

I still think the few of you that are regularly having problems need to look at your own systems or your local IP.

I was on here at 10 pm and talking to Aaron by PM with the last msg at 10:19 mountain time and the site was working smooth and fast. I have yet to see a downgrade in service regardless of when I'm on.

When I have a problem here, I immediately check a few forums I belong to and they work flawlessly.

Ok I got a partial answer in that I'm being told site maintenance type tasks are set to run at 10pm central time, which sounds like it may correspond with the time frames you guys are experiencing the slow down.

Scott was gonna look into it when he gets a chance but it may not be till the weekend depending on his schedule.

I'm pretty sure that is a user defined setting so it may need to be changed or some of the processes spread out. I'll keep ya posted.

Good to hear Aaron, thanks for the update...how long do those tasks usually run? Because 10pm central time would only be 11pm here...which is 2 hours earlier than I experience problems...and would then be 2 hours earlier than everyone else usually experiences problems...seeing as the problem always happens simultaneously for all of us.

I don't know how long they run. I would imagine it has to do with backing up the database etc which could be resource intensive depending on the depth of the backup.

Along with any scheduled tasks FTF may be running the ISP may also be running some sort of maintenance on their end also that we may or may not be able to control.
