Chris,

If your truck has a C6 a MAF swap is easy. I have the notebook on when I done mine and you'll kick yourself in the balls on the simplicity.

At thenext meet I'll give you a copy of the stuff I have in my notebook.....:wavey:

well my truck dont have a C6 its a E4od. anns truck has the C6. and it would be awesome if i could get a copy of the MAF swap stuff you have.

Might have to get a seperate controller for the trans from Baumann for te MAF swap or hunt for a 1995 Lightning computer (can't remember the code off te top of my head; need MD this early in the morning....)

Remember what's been said about matching parts to your application.

My 82 F-150 Supercab 4x4 has a 351W and a 4 speed.

Last rebuild I went full Edelbrock package. Carb, intake, heads, and cam. All the parts work together nice and the truck makes decent power.

Until I tried to climb the Lewiston grade. On a warm day I'd easly overheat the engine driving the hill in 4th gear at 60. When it was above 80 degrees out I have to lope up the hill in 3rd at 35.

Reason is I was still using the stock exhaust manifolds and cooling system. When the truck is on a heavy load like that it can't shed heat as fast as it makes it.

Think about what you're using your truck for and the dynamics of the environment you'll be operating your rig in.

Now in my situation a 4 core radiator and the appropriate fan shroud from NAPA fixed it for a couple hundred bucks. No big deal, but if I had planned ahead and though things out it would have saved me a long, slow trip.

Now if I can find a free flowing exhaust system and headers that are also quiet as stock, then I'll see even more performance gains from the engine.

no lightnings are SD also. so a Lightning computer wont work.

I told ya it was too early in the morning forme........:slap:

Grabbed these codes from fordfuelinjection for which computer to grab....Can be re-programmed with a Tweecer through the J-port...

been reading this book How to Build BIG-INCH Ford Small Blocks. basically talking purely bout strokers. and i was realizing how good of a price it was to get a stroker kit. you can get a good quality stroker kit for 1500 to 2k. and thought came to my head will a MAF system fuel injection support a say 393 stroker without having to change injectors and other stuff?

Nope, will it run? Yes but not right.

be kinda liked using a 390cfm carb instead of 750 or 800..

ok. dang. so this is gonna throw me off now. cause im really considering a stroker but then it will have to be carbed. which means a seperate computer controller for the tranny since i have the E4OD.DAYYYUMM!!!!! WHY ME!!!!!!!!!?????????????

If you do a maf swap the stroker will work, just need to be tuned and im pretty sure you will need bigger injectors...

And MAF to match the injectors.

ok heres the stroker kit im thinking bout. it ends up as a 393 ci's. its about 1200 dollars from speedo-motive. the reason im thinking this kit is it seems like a good solid stroker kit and its a decent price. the max RPM's are low so its not a high revving race motor. should have a good low end. here are the specs.
Bore: 4.030"
Stroke: 3.850"
Crankshaft: High Nodular Iron
Rod Type: Stage 1 with ARP WaveLoc Bolts
Rod Length: 5.956"
Rod Ratio: 1.54:1
Pistons: Federal Mogul Hyper eutectic
Rings: Sealed Power Cast Iron
Bearings: Clevite Tri-metal
Max. RPM: 6500

I'd go 24 or 30lb injectors AT LEAST or 42lb with a 90mm MAF from a Lightning Chris. You can always take out fuel rather than have to add parts to get more fuel into it. Also, might want to look into putting in a 255l/hr pump into the tanks in order to support having enough fuel for it. The tune the computer to the engine....

I'd start w/ the 30 and then go from there.
