I still believe the timing may be out of wack......it's not burning the fuel completely for some reason......

That's pretty radical timing. Are you running premium octane fuel?

I would have guessed 10-14 range so 15 sounds about right. Chris remember he has an aftermarket cam in it.
If the timing was too advanced for regular octane, all premium octane would do is prevent pre-detonation (pinging), it wouldn't effect black smoke output.

If it was timing, it would do the samething on both banks of the engine. Since it is only one side, he more than likely has a spark problem.
