Ok well if you all know, the metal tube that goes from your EGR on the intake, to the front of the manifold. Well my new headers dont have a spot for it. So what should i do now?

Well... the easiest way to disable the EGR is to block off the green vacuum line running to it. The problem is that you have to block it off; if the valve opens and your crimp isn't airtight, then the EGR valve will be letting fresh air into the intake. The computer is expecting inert gas - exhaust gas - which doesn't burn at all. You've effectively leaned out the mixture too much and the engine will ping.

So that's what I'd do if I were you.

The other option is to drill & tap a hole into your header, but I wouldn't recommend that.

Why not? That was going to be my suggestion. Seeing as you kept spouting off about deleting the EGR leading to decreased MPG's it seems like the smartest solution.

Not sure that i get what your trying to say? I have no means to be drilling and tapping into a small tube header. No thanks, and nor do i see it possible...

So block off the green vacuum line? and again what do i do about the metal tube? Will this hurt performance or mileage. Cuz if so im saying the hell with this damn thing and putting my stock manifolds on, and selling them to the next sucker.

An exhaust shop could likely do it, but whether or not he's willing to go that route is another story..

This what I had in mind... Not sure what you mean by drilling and tapping but that just sounds plain stupid.

An exhaust shop quoted me like $20 or $30 to weld a bung on my longtubes back when I thought I was putting them on Seems to me that $20 or $30 is a much better alternative than decreased gas mileage.

The pipe is so small its not even cool. The exhaust shop would charge me a fortune. How is a lightning EGR setup?

MIke, have you thought about a computer flash? I am kicking it around with mine and they can "delete" the EGR valve in the 'puter. then all you have to do is just make up a block off plate and bolt it in where the EGR tube was supposed to go.

IDK how much a flash is in your area, but there is a guy here that can do it with a ride along and $250, or on the dyno for $500.

umm good idea, but i dont know exactly how much my PCM reads, its a SD system. Ive been thinking about tweecer

You don't need to modify the computer program. You just need to get a resistor that goes in places of the EGR and fools the computer.

wow good find chris. Now lets talk bout that. If i get that wiring harness, and that plug thing it should ultamitly get rid of my EGR without effecting anything in a negitive way? Also will removing the thermactor tubes and putting the plugs in the back of the head effect anything in a negitive way??

No, no negative effects from those two things.

You'll need to put a block plate where the EGR was and then put one of those EGR eliminator resistors on the EGR circuit to make the computer THINK that the egr is working so it doesnt try and compensate with the fuel mixture like Andy was talking about.

Ok il order the resister tuesday, my buddy can make me a block off plate and i can just RTV that. Il find some plugs ( If anyone knows the size of the plug that i need) that would be great.
