hey guys i was wondering what could cause this? its on my 92 Flareside with a '94 351W in it.

now when im taking off if im flooring it i have a ton of power first half throttle and once i get past that point it feels like nothing.. like i could have it to the floor and let of to say 3/4 or half and be virtually no difference in power..

any ideas?

Simple...the guys that did your rear, put in a governor, so you don't break anything else....hahaha.

Seriously though...if that were an AOD tranny, I'd say a TV cable issue. I dunno if there is something comparable on an E4OD though.

hahaha, no its been like this for a while, im thinking its got to do with fuel delivery. a friend of mine said it might be the fuel pump and pumping enough fuel causing it to lean out. im pressure test the fuel lines in a few days to see, im wanting to get it on the dyno for a A/F mixture reading along with baseline readings for my engine swap...

Are you sure the throttle is opening all the way?
open the throttle by hand and see if the rpm's increase the entire time.

Have some one press the pedal and see if the throttle is opening all the way could be a stretched cable or just out of adjustment if stretched a few zip ties can fix that.
Does the TPS test Ok could be that also.

yeah the throttle opens all the way, thats what i thought the problem was several months ago.

the TPS.. well i havent tested that yet. wouldnt that affect the ECU telling the fuel pump how much fuel to send and the timing to advance etc. etc...

The upper part of the TPS could be bad and would not send the proper voltages to the ECU resulting in a improper air/fuel mix etc.
Easy to test with a volt ohm meter.

You mention fuel pump, any thoughts about maybe doing the filter first???? ;)

In my own world
check for a dirty air filter as well. the snorkel for cold air could also be full of leaves. can't run if they can't breath.

Got something in there making a restriction....

My first though is the TPS.. pull the codes to see if it's flagged. A fuel delivery problem could also be the culprit like a clogged fuel filter or weak pump.
