My build update

Hey all. Thought I'd share some updated pics of my build. I was able to get everything together on the front clip. My bed is still being worked on but should be done soon. I'm waiting on tires yet though. I got a pretty good deal on some Eagle Alloy wheels and since I'm not doing any off roading, I figured they'd do. I think they look sharp. I'll get some pics of those when I get tires. One thing about these trucks is that they sure weren't made perfect. Everything fit OK, but not perfect. Oh well, these were made to be work trucks. But all in all I think it looks pretty good. You have to get up and close with the truck to see some body line flaws.

What do the wheels look like btw? I see they're sitting on the frame....are they camera shy?!

I think it looks great. YelloThumbUp

And besides...if you made every single piece of it exactly, dead-on perfect, then you'd be too afraid of messing it up to ever enjoy driving the thing.

Figured I'd pop in and let you know I'm drooling again Buck...your truck is done first class all the way. I think I am anticipating it's completion almost as much as you...haha.

It is looking every bit as good as I thought it would, Buck. Great job. Are you doing any side trim, or leaving it smooth? I'm still debating with mine, but will decide soon.

Thanks guys. I'm eventually going to put back on the race track style trim. The bed I have it set up for it, I just have to drill all the holes in the doors and front fenders. I'm going to be sweating bullits the whole time there, but I like the look of it. Bad thing is, I don't have all the pieces yet and for new ones they are very expensive, so it may take me awhile to get everything together. I do have most pieces that are used and kinda scuffed, but at least I can use those to get my holes drilled and ready for new or really nice used trim.

Crap...I was getting all excited Buck and was gonna post the JBG trim because I thought it was down to $550 per side, but I just looked on the website, and only the topside is $550, the bottom side looks like it'll run another $500 or so...crap I misread their catalog. I thought I was gonna get out cheap on the Bronco...oh well better keep saving.

Buck, yea new trim (top and bottom) is expensive but cheaper than having someone redo old stuff. I wanted to have all the racetrack trim (top and bottom) restored and reanodized for my 78 crew by a company in California.....huh... all new trim from Dennis Carpenter was about $400 cheaper than having the old restored!! But yea, still a lot of $$$$. The DC trim looks Really nice but would look nicer if it was actually on my truck - hopefully by summer's end!

The good thing is, it's not something I need to drive the truck. I can at least drive it and enjoy it while saving up for the trim. I figured I could get a few pieces at a time and go from there. It will still bother me not having it on the truck, but something I can deal with until I get all the pieces.
