locking hubs

bought m/m hubs for my 78 f150 and come to find out that some fords came with short axle stubs. i marked the axle and widen the grove for the lockring.they work great. the m/m hubs don't have the grove in back of the center locking part.so if you buy a set of these hubs you'll have to have the longer axle outer shafts or widen the grove. I hope this helps someone

You happen to have any pics of this??? I was under the impression that all 44's of the era (77.5-79 anyway) were the exact same thing. BTW, what hubs were there before the MM's...original Ford??? If so and you wanna unload them, let me know.

sorry man, I'll hold to them for now. I thought they was the same, I'm going by what I read on the computer. If somebody can't get them to work just widen the groove, unless they make a longer outer shaft don't know
