That truck is the reason why I haven't been here much. So it's either that or scrap yard.

Your truck . I'm thinking of redoing it all and getting rid of the EFI and Computer. Something is wrong with the system in it now. I replaced the in-tank fuel pump, high pressure pump on the frame, fuel filter, IAC and TPS runs good while cold then 5 minutes later it will shut off while driving. I can restart it but it won't rev up enough to drive it and change gears. So I smoked the clutch to a point of uselessness to get it off the highway.

is your wiring system hacked up or something?

have you pulled codes? that'd be the first place i'd look is for codes and wiring system... then get the ECU checked to see if its ok...

Yeah the wiring is hacked up along with the fuel system so it's time to strip it or crush it,and I am attached to my truck. So I might get a SB frame or something else. I'm going to pull a part tomorrow. But the wiring and fuel system will be all new.

shouldnt be hard to get a replacement wiring system and fuel system for it... they are pretty common...

I'd go carb... eliminate all the EFI and computer crap.

Slap a carb and a distributor and a in line electric fuel pump.then drive it.

Cliff...I'd have no issues rebuilding a rig from jy parts...hell that's what most of us old school rig guys have to do. Only word of caution is, be prepared the part you sourced is bad...if that's the case it can get a little annoying, but some yards do offer a 'warranty' on some big dollar parts.

Mark I don't have much choice it's that or scrap it which may not be a big loss.
