My first vehicle was a '50 Chevy 3100. Drove the crap outta that thing for 6 years, and it took me many tries to finally screw it up.

Note: If you ever re-build the motor, be sure that you have the little "dippers" on the bottom of the connecting rods turned in the proper direction.

Another thing - if you ever spin a rod bearing, you can remove the head, push the piston with the spun bearing out through the top, remove the pushrods for that cylinder and drive 110 miles home. It might idle a little rough, but it will be ok.

Don't ask me how I know....

Nope, it's a 235. (Pretty much same engine though I believe.)

And thats a pretty good thing to know!


It's actually not runnin right now though, it was runnin fine. Then I let it get wet (the hood leaks ) and it started missin and fouled out my plugs, put new plugs in double checked the points, new fuel filters, and it still aint running very good AT ALL. Owell...gives me somthing to do once it warms up I guess.
