Might be worth his while to get a shipping quote

The 78 150 is coming along. I the engine is tired.....but I'm considering a reman 69-72 era Lincoln version 460 for a temporary replacement. I may need to invest in aluminum heads either way, and headers. Did the old blocks with larger plugs have dished pistons by chance? I'm hoping to turbo charge one day.....when I can afford to make this a play thing rather than my sole vehicle.

There are three numbers on the engine that might help ID it.

On the intake manifold close to the firing order.
On the heads just below the valve cover.
On the block above the oil pan maybe back by the starer.

Hopefully that will help you narrow down what you have and when it was built.

Get the block casting number and the date code. These are the only numbers that will help.

For example: D1VE-6015-AB or A1B or A2B .. Block casting number = Internal Balance.

1971/73 Ford/Merc Passenger Car 429; 1971/78 Passenger Car; 1973/78 F100/350; 1975/78 E250/350 460, ditto some 1979 460 except cars.

D9TE-6015-AB .. Block casting number = External Balance

Some 1979 F150/350 & E250/350 460; 1980/97 E250/350 460; 1983/96 F250/350 460; 1997 F250 H/D & F350 460.
