F250-550 1999 add A/C system questions

Hi I have a 1999 f 450 7.3 that I bought new and without a/c, it only has 80,000 miles because we are a seasonal company. I wish I bought it with a/c but now would like to add it for my son who is now driving it and hates the heat of summer. Has anyone done this before? Do I need a wiring harness? What do I need? Thanks for your help..

You might be better off finding a junk 7.3 truck with a/c and swapping over everything there’s quite a few parts involved.

Agreed, it would be better to find another truck as a donor. The wiring, and vacuum lines may be underpass already, but they may not be also
