Ford F-150 With EcoBoost Rated at 365 Horsepower, 420 Pounds-Feet

Those torque ratings beat out all but the new 6.2-liter V-8, available on the top-of-the-line F-150 and base 2011 Ford F-Series Super Duty. The EcoBoost’s toque ratings are better than the 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V-8s in the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, the 5.7-liter V-8 in the 2011 Ram 1500, the 5.7-liter V-8 in the 2011 Toyota Tundra and the 5.6-liter V-8 in the 2011 Nissan Titan.

I'm sorry, but that alternator is in a really dumb place. It looks like whatever is on the driver's side of the block is supposed to have two hoses coming off it, which will probably hinder what little access to the alternator is left.

That 420 numer sounds like the original numbers mentioned at the autoshow when they released the Ecoboost originally....it has been a great engine so far in our experience.

Yeah, I believe it was 415/415 on E85 in the lincoln MKR concept.

This engine is going revolutionize trucks if it can be durable enough (and given Ford's recent performances I'm going to go out on a limb and say they tested the hell out of it and it will be!)

They will find away to make that hard to, and before you know it only dealers will be able to change the oil.

inre to the quote (that I can't quote). The Titan comes standard with its DOHC 5.6L 32 valve V8. How much extra will Ford charge for the 6.2L?

Dunno about these new engines, but the Titan's V8 runs circles around the 5.4L, ditto for the Ram's 5.7L 'cam in block' and GM's 5.3L 'cam in block.'
