Well, lesson learned on the grille shell, even if I wanted to file a claim it is past the 45 days...I suppose on the other hand that the truck is going to wind up getting scratches over time.

Good morning Duncan. Nice haul, sorry to hear about the shell.

Morning Mark....and thanks!
And I think I'll keep my eye out for another shell and maybe sell this one.

Good Morning !

The Gas Cap looks wrong.

Are you not wanting OEM Locking Gas caps since the price of Gasoline is so high ?

If so I have couple here.
I also have the OEM NON-locking gas caps that are in MINT condition

Hey Dennis, are those non-locking fuel caps supposed to have words on them from factory? My F100 has the same caps, but they don't have any words or stickers on them.

I bought that exact locking cap for my 77 from rock auto and had to return it because the neck needed to be extended and it wasn't on the listing....there is a tad difference in the length of the notch that makes a difference....like 1/16th of an inch difference....

Did more yesterday....got rear axle out, brakes disassembled, springs off and drained the gas tank. Brakes all looked in good condition and the axle shaft bearings looked good. Did see that 2 of the wheel studs had been replaced by nuts and bolts and the same side had a fair bit of silicone by the seal.
Also remembered right away that I did not drain the axle fluid...:headbang:

Parking brake cable removal...."compress and remove" according to the shop manual...grrrrrr...what a PITA

Gas tank sender connection still had the dielectric grease on it with no corrosion.
