There is an aftermarket one I just got, that has a forged steel base, and a replaceable throw-out bearing. Some of the stuff I have run into already are pure plastic, and you just can't change the bearing. Not possible - it's molded in. And the assembly is a hundred bucks!
But retro-fitting is possible, many with lifetime warrantees.
Dunno about you - but I only want to do this ONE TIME, and only have to spend 28 bucks max later on.
AUTOZONE has the unit I bought, 95 and change plus tax. Throw-out included.
